Plot:
“Set in the 1950s, the story follows Babydoll (Emily Browning) who is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and in that world, she begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man.”

The film is starring Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Carla Gugino, Jon Hamm, Oscar Isaac, and Scott Glenn. It will be released in theaters on March 25, 2011.

The movie Sucker Punch has been described has “Alice in Wonderland with a machine gun”. Well sign me up for the movie Sucker Punch then!

Plot:
“The dark tale with psychological twists stars Natalie Portman as Nina, a technically brilliant ballerina whose life takes some strange turns after being picked as the lead in a New York City production of Swan Lake. Pressures mount as her overbearing mother (Barbara Hershey) pushes her to succeed and her manipulative dance master (Vincent Cassel) commands her to be more seductive and loose in her performance.
Complicating matters is the arrival of Lily (Mila Kunis), a sultry dancer who exhibits all the innate ease and sexuality that Nina lacks. Nina begins to fixate on the newcomer as the two forge an unusual relationship.”

The cast includes Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Vincent Cassel, Winona Ryder, Barbara Hershey, Sebastian Stan, and Kristina Anapau. The Black Swan movie will will open the 67th Venice International Film Festival on September 1, 2010, but there’s no official release date yet.

Author Max Brook confirmed that there’s a movie adaptation of his bestseller zombie novel World War Z. Director Marc Forster (who directed Quantum of Solace) is set to helm the project Paramount Pictures. And Actor Brad Pitt will have a lead role.

“A researcher for the U.N. Postwar Commission interviews survivors from all over the world in order to put together a post-mortem on a war that destroyed every country around the globe. A war involving nasty flesh eating zombies…”

Word War Z makes for a thrilling read. Glad they’re going to bring this master piece to the big screen. I wonder if they’re going to keep the same structure though: the book is actually collection of individual accounts in the form of interviews of different characters. And along the story we get a better picture of the origins of World War Z and how it changed the world. I’d think it’s too much for just one movie, so I guess they will simplify the whole thing for the film.

They’re eying a Summer 2012 release for the movie World War Z.
