Never Let Me Go is an upcoming sci-fi drama thriller movie directed by Mark Romanek and based on Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel of the same name. The cast includes Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan, Andrew Garfield, Sally Hawkins, and Charlotte Rampling. The film should be released on October 1, 2010. “An alternate history story of a woman who, as she reflects on her private school years in the English countryside, reunites with her two friends to face the dark secrets buried in their communal past. I have mixed feelings for the movie Never let me Go… On one hand the story is definitely interesting. But on the other hand the premise is both horrible and dumb, come on, the word clone is just a fancy name for younger twin! If you are human then your twin, your clone, can be but human and have a soul too! So that boarding school, which is actually an organ farm, is just plain wrong and horrible… And I really doubt that any country would allow the creation of such a barbaric institution.

Anyway, the movie Never Let Me Go still looks like a movie worth watching.

G4 aired a new Resident Evil 4 movie trailer and has leaked online:

Plot:
“Resident Evil Afterlife picks up where the third film ended. Since the events of Resident Evil Extinction, Alice (Milla Jovovich) has been roaming the world searching for any remaining survivors. Alice also comes face to face with her arch-nemesis, Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts), for the first time in the series. As she enters the ruined Los Angeles, she stumbles onto a base of Umbrella, surrounded by zombies. She then teams up with a group of survivors who had been hiding in Los Angeles since the T-virus outbreak, and helps them to free another group held-up in a prison, among them the brother of Claire (Ali Larter), Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller).”

Too bad the movie Resident Evil 4 isn’t released this Summer! We’ll have to wait till September 10, 2010 for the official release.

Actor Hugh Jackman got the lead role in Real Steel, an upcoming sci-fi movie directed by Shawn Levy and produced by Steven Spielberg’s Dreamworks. The story centers on a fighter who has to reinvent himself when human boxers are replaced by robots. The cast also includes Dakota Goyo, Kevin Durand, Anthony Mackie, and Evangeline Lilly. The movie Real Steel will hit theaters on November 18, 2011.

Thanks to USA Today we may have a first look at Hugh Jackman in the movie Real Steel:

Plot:
“Hugh Jackman is to play an ex-fighter who becomes a promoter when human boxing is outlawed for being too violent. The new gladiators are 2,000-pound robots with human qualities. The ex-fighter’s access to sub-standard robot parts hampers his hopes for glory in Robot Boxing, until he discovers a discarded robot that always seems to win. The ex-fighter has also discovered he’s the father of a 13-year old son, and they bond as the robot brawls its way toward the top.”

We only see half of the robot on the picture above, but I used photoshop to get a glimpse of the whole thing:

This is actually a real robot, no CGI here! But the fighting scenes will use CGI. Director Shawn Levy explains why he has decided to use both real robots and CGI for the film:

“There are some things only visual effects can pull off. But when you give an actor a real thing, in this case a real 8-foot-tall machine, to interact with and do dialogue opposite, you get a more grounded reality to the performance.”
