The SORCERER’S APPRENTICE

Plot:
“Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). Balthazar can’t do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It’ll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes the Sorcerer’s Apprentice.”

Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel - The Sorcerer's Apprentice
Looks like the Sorcerer’s Apprentice is going to be much darker than what I was expecting! Those gorgeous special effects really catch my attention, plus Nicolas Cage looks quite good as a sorcerer, can’t say as much about Jay Baruchel though…

Anyway, looks like the Sorcerer’s Apprentice is going to be a hell of a movie!

Dark Shadows Movie

Dark Shadows MovieDirector Tim Burton and Actor Johnny Depp are teaming up for the movie adaptation of Dark Shadows, the classic 1960s gothic TV soap opera. Besides the vampire Barnabas Collins, the original Dark Shadows show featured werewolves, ghosts, zombies, man-made monsters, witches, warlocks, time travel (both into the past and into the future), and a parallel universe.

Tim Burton’s Dark Shadow is said to include vampires, but no clue yet if the film will reunite all the monsters.

Filming of the Dark Shadows movie is set to start in Fall 2010. So the film will probably be released in 2011.

Resident Evil 4 Pushed Back to 2011

Resident Evil 4 AfterlifeWe just learned via Shock Till You Drop that Resident Evil 4, aka Resident Evil Afterlife, has been postponed from August 21, 2010 to January 14, 2011! Yep, it’s a sad day… But for once, they have a good reason to delay the film: it’s because they need more time for post production and for special effects. So it’s not just to drive the RE fan crazy.

The new release date of Resident Evil 4 isn’t so far ahead, we’re ‘just’ a year from it…

Riddick 3 Movie

Riddick 3 MovieBack in March Vin Diesel talk to SciFi Wire about a possible Riddick 3 movie:

“We’re going to find Riddick alone for the first part of the movie, barely alive, surrounded by carnivorous monsters who are trying to eat him. So you’ll see a futuristic Rambo-esque Riddick trying to survive.
[…]
David Twohy is scripting the next installment of Riddick as we speak, and it’s underway. The story will return to a Pitch Black [sensibility] while servicing the mythology that’s been enhanced in Chronicles of Riddick.”

Actor Vin Diesel

Well the project seems on a good track according to those tidbits that Vin Diesel shared on his facebook page:

“The Riddick script is completed… great job DT.” (November 7, 2009)

“The Riddick team is in New Zealand location scouting already… that’s exciting.” (December 1, 2009)

“P.s. The Riddick team has returned from New Zealand, and from the images, it’s no wonder why DT loved it… it’s like a director’s paradise.” (December 6, 2009)

Actor Vin Diesel

I still wonder why Riddick would have left the Necromonger throne he won in Riddick 2. But I’m kind of happy to know that the franchise goes back to its roots and that Riddick hasn’t become fat king giving orders to his soldiers.

I wait with impatience for the movie Riddick 3!

Solomon Kane

Plot:
“A mercenary who owes his soul to the devil redeems himself by fighting evil.”

They kind of oversell the film with those posters of Solomon Kane… I mean James Purefoy who’s got the lead role does not look as badass in the movie…
:/

Jennifer Lopez Movie

Jennifer Lopez Movie - Back-up Plan MovieEntertainment Tonight had the chance to talk to Jennifer Lopez and Alex O’Loughlin when filming of the Back-up Plan wasn’t wrapped yet, just a few months ago. Here’s the interview of Jennifer Lopez on the set of the Back-up Plan, Alex O’Loughlin shows up too:

Back-up Plan – On the set with Jennifer Lopez and Alex O’Loughlin

Plot
“A romantic comedy centered on Zoe (Jennifer Lopez), a woman who conceives twins through artificial insemination, only to meet Stan (Alex O’Loughlin), the man of her dreams, on the very same day.”

J Lo looks like a damn lovely young mother! Her own experience as mother must positively influence her performance in the Back-up Plan. This will probably be a romantic comedy worth watching!
