In Scott Stewart’s Legion movie, most angels feel like Mankind does not deserve to live anymore and decide to eradicate our species… Fortunately the Archangel Michael (Paul Bettany) still has hope in Mankind and is here to save us from the Apocalypse! Here some new pictures of Legion:
Plot:
“After a terrifying biblical apocalypse descends upon the world, the Archangel Michael (Paul Bettany) is the only one standing between mankind and an apocalypse, after God loses faith in humanity. Michael, along with some humans in a diner in the middle of nowhere, has to protect the messiah growing inside one of the diner’s waitress.”
The movie Legion promises a hell of a lot of action!

Clint Eastwood is directing the movie Invictus, a feature film based on Nelson Mandela’s life during the 1995 Rugby World Cup in South Africa. The screenplay was penned by native South African writer Anthony Peckham, based upon the book Playing the Enemy written by John Carlin. The movie Invictus is starring Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela who was President of South Africa at the time, and Matt Damon as Francois Pienaar, the South African team captain. The film will open in theaters on December 11, 2009.
Here below a first look at Morgan freeman as President Nelson Mandela and Matt Damon as Rugby man Francois Pienaar:

Plot:
“Invictus tells the inspiring true story of how Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman) joined forces with the captain of South Africa’s rugby team (Damon) to help unite their country. Newly elected President Mandela knows his nation remains racially and economically divided in the wake of apartheid. Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela rallies South Africa’s underdog rugby team as they make an unlikely run to the 1995 World Cup Championship match.”
Nelson Mandela – Morgan Freeman
Francois Pienaar – Matt Damon
Nelson Mandela is for sure a great man that deserves much respect. But I doubt I would be interested in watching his biopic if it wasn’t directed by Clint Eastwood. I usually find hard to watch biopic of people who are still alive: I’d feel like watching some TV report… But with a directorial talent like Clint Eastwood helming the project and with actors like Morgan Freeman and Matt Demon I can but give a try to the movie Invictus.

The much awaited Wolf Man movie has been pushed back once again. It’s now scheduled for a release on February 10, 2010. But as a compensation, an official trailer of The Wolf Man is going to be released in a few hours. Take a look to those pictures meanwhile:
Plot:
“Universal Studios resurrects the classic lycanthrope with this tale of an American who experiences an unsettling transformation after returning to his ancestral home in Victorian-era Great Britain and being attacked by a rampaging werewolf.”
Joe Johnston’s Wolf Man isn’t a ‘friendly’ wolf like Jacob from the Twilight Saga. The werewolf interpreted by Benicio Del Toro is a real beast hungry for juicy human flesh and thirsty for refreshing blood… A real monster is roaming the woods! Beware of the Wolf Man!

Director Peter Berg who was in charge of the first Hancock movie has been talking about the possible movie sequel to Hancock:
“There might be another god out there. Might be another one.
[…]
They like to fast-track it, but Will’s busy, I’m pretty busy. We’re excited to do one, but we want the script to be right and the movie to be right. We don’t feel a burning imperative to go right back into it.”
Director Peter Berg
This sounds like a real sequel, but I guess there will be a few flashbacks showing us the origins of those mighty beings, and how they came to Earth.
I enjoyed watching Hancock. Some critics may have been harsh on this film, but I still think that Will Smith’s performance was great. So I would be glad to see the release of a Hancock 2 movie in a not too distant future.

A new series of pictures of Avatar, James Cameron’s latest sci-fi movie, have been unveiled just to tease us all before the official release of the Avatar movie trailer which will happen in less than 8 hours from now:
Plot:
“A paraplegic ex-marine war veteran (Sam Worthington) is unwillingly sent to establish a human settlement on the distant planet of Pandora, only to find himself battling humankind alongside the planet’s indigenous Na’vi race in this ambitious, digital 3-D sci-fi epic from Academy Award-winning Titanic director James Cameron.”
Those flying machines from the movie Avatar look like fat bumblebees.

A first featurette has been released for Dead of the Dead, the new zombie movie directed by George Romero (who’s like a living god in the zombie genre). The clip features some behind-the-scenes footage and also a few interviews of the film crew:
Dead of the Dead First Footage
I really enjoy the part with the featured zombie Steve Barton: the big guy is talking like a kid about playing as a zombie in a movie directed by George Romero.
The movie is taking place on an island, so it’s probably local zombies we saw in this featurette of Survival of the Dead, because I don’t think zombies can swim…

Comments Off on George Romero Survival of the Dead
The world could end in a cataclysmic apocalypse in 2012, but if it doesn’t then it will civilization shall fall because of an apocalyptical zombie plague, like in Survival of the Dead, George Romero’s latest zombie movie (formerly known as George A. Romero’s Island of the Dead, …Of the Dead or Island of the Dead).
Update: Here’s the first Survival of the Dead trailer:
SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD TRAILER
Here below the first movie pictures of Survival of the Dead:
(Click on a picture to enlarge it.)
Plot:
“In a world where the dead rise to menace the living, rogue soldier Crocket (Alan Van Sprang) leads a band of military dropouts to refuge from the endless chaos. As they search for a place ‘ where the shit won ’ t get you, ‘ they meet banished patriarch Patrick O ’ Flynn (played with zeal by Kenneth Welsh), who promises a new Eden on the fishing and ranching outpost Plum Island. The men arrive, only to find themselves caught in an age-old battle between O ’ Flynn ’ s family and rival clan the Muldoons. It turns out that Patrick was expelled from the isle for believing that the only good zombie is a dead zombie, while the Muldoons think it ’ s wrong to dispatch afflicted loved ones, attempting to look after their undead kinfolk until a cure is found. But their bid for stability on the homestead has turned perverse: the undead are chained inside their homes, pretending to live normal lives – and the consequences are bloody. A desperate struggle for survival will determine whether the living and the dead can coexist.”
The only way to get rid of a zombie plague would be to nuke the contaminated areas. Taking care of the zombies, like this family does in the movie Survival of the Dead, would just hasten the end of Mankind because zombies are irrationally nasty!
