Roland Emmerich 2012 Pushed Back

2012Roland Emmerich’s new disaster movie 2012 is pushed back from from July 10 to November 13. Sony distribution president Rory Bruer explains why the film is postponed:

2012 Trailer

Rory Bruer - Head of Sony Distribution

“We’ve had such success with the James Bond films in November that we wanted a big tentpole film in that slot this year. We’ve got so many films in the summer that this is the perfect answer to that.”

Sony distribution president Rory Bruer

It will give you time to look for 2012 on Google if you didn’t have time to do it yet!

Push Telekinetic Fight

PushA telekinetic fight, with fighters able to use their mind to move and throw stuff around, should be really nasty. But in the movie Push fighters aren’t that wicked… This second clip of Push just show one more tame fight between Chris Evans and Neil Jackson who are both movers:

Push Movie

Well fortunately telekinesy is just a fantasy because I’m sure that some wicked minds would be much more efficient in using such an ability to harm others than they do in the movie…

Push will be released on February 6, 2009.

Stargate Universe SciFi Channel

STARGATE UNIVERSEStargate Atlantis is over (still a few movies before its ultimate end though) but a new series based on the Stargate franchise is being developed. The new show, called Stargate Universe, will start to air on the Sci Fi Channel in Summer 2009. Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper will serve as executive producers and writers.

Stargate Universe The New Stargate TV Show

Stargate Universe is about a rather heteroclite team of soldiers and scientist who get trapped aboard the Ancient ship, the Destiny, that was part of an Ancient experiment to seed the galaxies with Stargates millions of years ago but that was prematurely ended by the Ancients’ ascension.

While trying to escape an imminent danger the team activates the ninth and final gate chevron (whose purpose was previously unknown) and get aboard the Destiny. But that’s a one-way trip, without return to Earth… Unable to return to Earth, they must fend for themselves aboard the ship as it takes them to the far reaches of the universe.

The show will involve more space-based action than SG-1 or Atlantis and we will discover more aliens this time.

Impatient to watch this new series Stargate Universe: I’m fan of SGU even before it’s out!

UP Bootleg CES Clip

DISNEY PIXAR UPSomeone attending the 2009 Consumer Electronic Show (CES) was brave enough to turn on his camera phone while watching a preview clip of Pixar’s UP. So thanks to him we may enjoy below this bootleg clip of UP that just leaked online:

UP Bootleg Clip

It does not feel as a usual Pixar movie, but still I’d be glad to watch the movie UP. I hope the voice of Russell, the kid, won’t be as deep in the final cut though…

Witchblade Teaser Poster

WITCHBLADE Teaser

This was indeed an early poster: the movie won’t be released in 2009, but later, hope not too much later…

Any guess about what actress could play the part? Who do you think would be the best fit for the Witchblade?

Underworld Rise of the Lycans Clip

Let’s watch those two clips of Underworld 3, aka Underworld Rise of The Lycans:

Underworld 3 Preview Clips

Sonja (Rhona Mitra) and Lucian (Michael Sheen) try to escape.

Sonja (Rhona Mitra) is battling against Viktor (Bill Nighy).

The main characters of Underworld 3 are:

Michael Sheen as Lucian (Enslaved as a baby, Lucian has only been able to imagine the full extent of his Lycan powers. In the evolution from werewolf to Lycan, Lucian feels the responsibility of the Lycan race resting on his shoulders. At the same time, his love for the vampire, Sonja, complicates his desire for freedom from the Vampires.)

– Rhona Mitra as Sonja
(Sonja is the daughter of the powerful Vampire Elder, Viktor. Beautiful and brave, her nightly patrols defend the Coven from the hoards of ferocious werewolves. Despite her father’s hatred for the Lycan race, she has fallen in love with the Lycan slave, Lucian. She battles between the desire to fulfill the responsibilities that come with her lineage and her willful nature. Because of her love for Lucian, she is sympathetic to the enslaved Lycans’ plight.)

– Bill Nighy as Viktor (One of three ruling Vampire Elders, Viktor is a haughty, ostentatious Vampire overlord nearly 1,000 years old. Like most Vampires, he has a severe loathing for Lycans but also a fascination with their unique strengths. Through slavery and torture, he has created a small but mighty force of enslaved Lycans. Despite his best efforts to govern the Coven, the Council members have begun to question his leadership.)

Plus a short scene for Kate Beckinsale:

Kate Beckinsale as Selene (Beckinsale did not film new footage, a scene from Underworld will be used to bookend the film)

Opening this Friday, Underworld Rise of the Lycans is the third Underworld movie directed by Patrick Tatopoulos.

Street Fighter Movie Poster

The US poster of Street Fighter The Legend of Chun-Li was rather bland. But this latest international Street Fighter is much more appealing:

Street-Fighter Movie

(Click on the poster to enlarge it.)

Street Fighter Chun-Li- Kristin kreukSTREET FIGHTER THE LEGEND OF CHUN LI

Her strength, her fury, her vengeance will become legend!

They could still make a better poster, but this one is already a good draft. One thing to correct asap though: Kristin Kreuk is pretty, Chun-Li herself is said pretty, so how the hell did they mange to make Kristin Kreuk look like a zombie on this poster of Street Fighter The Legend of Chun Li? Come on, show how pretty she is! Pretty does not mean weak when we’re talking about Chun-Li, just think about her Hundred Rending Kicks or about her Qiqong!

Hundred Rendering Kicks Qiqong - Chun-Li

James McTeigue Ninja Assassin Preview

Ninja AssassinTake a look to this sneak preview of Ninja Assassin, upcoming action movie directed by James McTeigue and starring Rain, Rick Yune and Naomie Harris:

Ninja Assassin Sneak Preview Clip

Ninja Assassin was produced by Joel Silver and the Wachowski brothers. It was entirely filmed in Germany (probably to benefit from local subsides: making a movie like Ninja Assassin cost indeed a lot of money, so filmmakers try to get state financial support when available).

You may have recognized Berlin’s Victory column at the beginning of this Ninja Assassin preview: that’s where Obama gave a speech during his European tour before being elected!

Wolverine Movie cast

Wolverine Movie CastExtensive reshoot being done for Wolverine is causing a stir online. I won’t develop here: I think it is a pointless controversy, yep much ado about nothing… I bet that actually most people will enjoy this Wolverine movie at the end and I’m confident that Hugh Jackman will be right eventually when he says:

” […] Please rest assured that WOLVERINE will be badass and hopefully meet all of your expectations. […] “

Hugh Jackman (in a comment sent to Aintitcool

I can but agree with Hugh Jackman. The trailer wast gorgeous and look at this amazing cast of Wolverine:

Wolverine Cast

Hugh jackman as Logan / Wolverine
Troye Sivan plays the young Logan
Liev Schreiber as Victor Creed / Sabretooth, who, from friend, will become Wolverine’s mortal enemy
Danny Huston as William Stryker
Lynn Collins as Silver Fox: Wolverine’s love interest, who becomes a captive of Stryker
Taylor Kitsch as Remy LeBeau / Gambit, a Cajun thief who has the ability to charge any object he touches with kinetic energy, forcing it to explode
Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson / Deadpool, a wisecracking and thoroughly insane mercenary
Daniel Henney as David North / Agent Zero, a member of the Weapon X program and an expert tracker with lethal marksman skills
Will.i.am as John Wraith / Kestrel, a teleporting mutant who becomes a Weapon X test subject
Dominic Monaghan as Barnell Bohusk / Blackwing, formerly known as Beak, a mutant who can manipulate energy and electricity.
Scott Adkins as Weapon XI: Weapon XI will feature in the end sequence fight scene against Wolverine. Adkins was also Reynolds’ stunt double.
Kevin Durand as Frederick J. Dukes / The Blob, an obese mutant with an indestructible layer of fat.
Adelaide Clemens (?) as Emma Frost

I hope this Wolverine will be released in time: I am so impatient! Who is you favorite mutant in this Wolverine movie?
:)

Moon Clip

SDirector Duncan Jones must be fan of science fiction like his father David Bowie. Jones is indeed bring us Moon, an appealing science-fiction movie full of references. It is starring Sam Rockwell in the lead role and Kevin Spacey is lending his voice to the Lunar base AI. We may watch a few Moon preview clips thanks to Collider (here) and Omelete:

Moon Preview Clips

Good morning Sam!

Rover accident.

Ping Pong in the Lunar base

I’m sorry, she passed away some years ago…

Sam I can only account for what occurs on the base.

This AI with its electronic eye is like a tribute to Writer Arthur C. Clarke and to Director Stanley Kubrick in a reference to HAL9000 in ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’. I am really impressed by the quality of the set and all its details. Sam Rockwell’s performance is also remarkable: he’s playing two roles at once with a real talent.

Rover - Movie Moon

To help you better understand what’s going in plot, here’s an extract of the synopsis:

“But 2 weeks shy of his departure from Selene, Sam starts seeing things, hearing things and feeling strange. And when a routine extraction goes horribly wrong, he discovers that Lunar have their own plans for replacing him and the new recruit is eerily familiar.
Before he can return to Earth, Sam has to confront himself and the discovery that the life he has created, may not be his own. It’s more than his contract that is set to expire.”

Some may think that the pace of the movie a bit slow, but I think it’s a strength for such a sci-fi movie: it will render the movie experience even more realistic!

I’m damn impatient to watch Moon! Where can I buy my own Kevin Spacey AI robot? that’s better than a pet! And ifs it can run the Lunar base then it could run my house cleaning!
:)

Michael Rymer Witchblade

WITCHBLADE MOVIEDirector Michael Rymer is said to be working on a live-action movie adaptation of Witchblade, a comic book created by Top Cow editors Marc Silvestri and David Wohl. Scriptwriter Everett De Roche is tackling the screenplay. No cast has been announced yet.

Witchblade Movie in 2010

Witchblade is about a woman superhero whose powers come from the Witchblade a supernatural, sentient artifact with immense destructive and protective powers. The vigilante struggles to hone the awesome powers of the Witchblade and fend off those with a nefarious interest in it, especially entrepreneur Kenneth Irons. She also struggles to maintain a personal life.

Well it boils down to a female version of the Green Lantern!

Howard McCain Outlander Trailer

An ultimate movie trailer of Outlander, upcoming science-fiction movie directed by Howard McCain and starring James Caviezel, Sophia Myles and, Ron Perlman, has shown up just before the final release of the film on January 23, 2009:

OUTLANDER

Norway, year 709
In the middle of a Viking war an Outlander has come.
But not alone…

Plot synopsis:
“During the reign of the Vikings, Kainan, a man from a far-off world, crash lands on Earth, bringing with him an alien predator known as the Moorwen. Though both man and monster are seeking revenge for violence committed against them, Kainan leads the alliance to kill the Moorwen by fusing his advanced technology with the Viking’s Iron Age weaponry.”

It’s been a long road for Outlander to be released in the USA: but if we can believe this trailer then the Outlande movie is going to be explosive. I love the high-tech suit Jesus (James Caviezel) is wearing at the beginning of this trailer!

Oh my God! I definitely have to go see Outlander when it’s in theaters next week!

US release date: January 23, 2009 (limited theatrical release).
