Well it’s not an official announcement, but we knew already that the studios were eyeing for more installments since they brought the new cast on board. So Transformers 5 is a done deal. Now, will Director Michael Bay return to helm the fifth installment? Sounds unlikely, he said he’d like like to leave the frnachise, but who knows, maybe he will keep around… Anyway, am sure they can find another talented chap to take over the franchise.

Do you have any suggestion regarding the plot of Transformers 5? Do you want the Dinobots to stick around? What about Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, and Jack Reynor? Share your thoughts below!

Release date: Spring 2017.

The Lego Movie 2 Directed by Chris McKay

We already told you that a sequel to The Lego movie was under works. And that Jared Stern and Michelle Morgan have been hired to pen a script. But we were wondering if Phil Lord and Christopher Miller would return to helm the sequel. Well, now we have confirmation that they won’t. Chris McKay is indeed taking over the director’s seat. Don’t worry, the chap is no newcomer to the world of Lego: he was animation co-director of the first Lego movie.

I guess this means we may expect some continuity with the feel and the spirit of the first film. But the release date is still far off: the Lego Movie 2 is indeed set to hit theaters on May 26, 2017. So, much can still happen before then.

Anyway, stay tuned with us for more information about the Lego Movie 2 as details emerge online.

The Smurfs 3 Movie

From what I read here and there the third movie in the Smurfs franchise is set to be an animated movie. The two previous movie involved CG characters in a live setting, but the new film will all CG animated.

Smurfs 3 Trailer

And the Smurfs 3 should go back to the origins of the Smurfs. Director Kelly Asbury (who helmed “Shrek 2” and “Gnomeo and Juliet”) is set to helm the project. A few words from the director:

“I’m really excited about taking the Smurfs in a completely new fresh direction. We’re not making a Smurfs 3 film. Our character designs and environments will be stylistically closer to the original artwork created by Peyo. Our story will explore the beginnings of the beloved little blue creatures in a fun full CG animated comedy-adventure for every generation to enjoy.”

Director Director Kelly Asbury

What do you think of the new direction taken by the Smurfs franchise? Are you glad to hear about this CG reboot of the franchise? Or where you hoping for direct sequel combining live-action and CG animation? Share your thoughts below!

The release date of the Smurfs 3 is set to August 14, 2015.

The Conjuring 2 Movie – The Sequel to the Conjuring

A sequel to The Conjuring, the 2013 horror movie directed by James Wan, has been officially confirmed. There’s even a release date:The Conjuring 2 should hit theaters on October 23, 2015.

No wonder here, the film was a huge success after all: it made more than $318 worldwide for a $20 million budget.

Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are set to reprise their roles as Lorraine Warren and Ed Warren respectively. Unfortunately, Director James Wan is unlikely to return: he said indeed that he was finished with horror movies and would rather focus on other genres. But Carey Hayes and Chad Hayes who penned the script of the first film are back for the sequel so there’s hope for some continuity.

Shrek 5 Movie

Shrek Forever After - Shrek 4You thought Shrek 4 was supposed to close the CG animated movie? Well, you may have to rethink that one! Jeffrey Katzenberg, the CEO of Dreamworks Animation, just hinted indeed that we’re likely to get a Shrek 5 movie:

“We like to let them have a little bit of time to rest, but I think you can be confident that we’ll have another chapter in the Shrek series. We’re not finished, and more importantly, neither is he.”

DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg

I guess they want to milk the cash cow a bit further, can’t throw a stone at them I’d do the same! Besides many fans are missing Shrek and would definitely welcome a new installment. But let’s hope they will come up with a good script though: we don’t want them to rush things, do we? Let’s not be hasty!

Do you have any suggestion regarding the script? What o you want to see in the fifth chapter of the adventures of Shrek?

Stay tuned with us for more information about the movie Shrek 5!
