The Purge, the horror thriller movie starring Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey, has hit US theaters and has been doing more than well. So it’s no wonder to hear that they’re now planning a sequel to the film. Yep, they’re going to develop The Purge 2.

The first film was produced by Blumhouse, the company behind the “Paranormal Activity” movies, a company used to transform low-budget films into profit-machine franchises. They have already applied for a California tax break on a sequel and have confirmed via their twitter account that The Purge 2 is indeed in development.

The ending of the first film and the overall concept definitely grant a sequel. Unfortunately Actor Ethan Hawke is unlikely to return since the character he plays was fatally stabbed with a machete in the first film. But the sequel could focus on his wife who’s a real survivor. Or The Purge 2 could also move to a new location with a new group of characters.

Actor Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock, the professional wrestler turned actor, got the lead role in Hercules, the upcoming action movie based on the graphic novel “Hercules: The Thracian Wars” by Steve Moore. The film is directed by Brett Ratner (who helmed Rush Hour and X-Men The Last Stand).

See the hashtag #MeganFox? Does that mean Megan Fox is reprising her role as Mikaela Banes in Transformers 4? Is the Lamborghini Aventador her car, or an Autobot in charge of protecting her? Or maybe the hashtag was just a mistake?

Sounds like Disney is determined to develop a sequel to Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Yep, get ready for Alice in Wonderland 2! Scriptwriter Linda Woolverton who wrote the script of the first film is already working on the script of the sequel.

Unfortunately Tim burton won’t return to helm Alice in Wonderland 2. Director James Bobin (who helmed The Muppets) is indeed taking over the director’s seat.

Now, wil Mia Wasikowska and Johnny Depp reprise their roles as Alice and the Mad Hatter? Well, nothing officially confirmed yet, but let’s hope so because we can’t imagine a sequel without those two! They delivered a damn great performance in the first film.

Meet Hound, a new autobot in Transformers 4, the upcoming action science-fiction movie directed by Michael Bay and starring Jack Reynor:

But I guess Michael Bay wants something bigger to match the scale of Optimus Prime. But then, he could have chosen a hummer… Why did he pick up a truck that could come straight from Mad Max or Death Race?

Pirates of the Caribbean 5, the fifth installment of the blockbuster franchise that follows the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow, will be directed by Norwegian Filmmakers Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg who helmed Kon-Tiki.

The completely upgraded, custom-built Optimus Prime from Western Star (a subsidiary of Daimler Trucks North America)

The blue and black Autobot is a classy 1,200-horsepower Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse worth more than $2.4 million.

The green Autobot is a special race-inspired C7 Corvette Stingray, it’s based on Chevrolet’s upcoming 2014 production car.

Plot:
“As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon,’ Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control – all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs.
