Producer Lauren Shuler Donner has been talking about the upcoming live action Deadpool movie starring Ryan Reynolds. She’s bringing some good new for the hard-core fans of the mutant mercenary: the movie Deadpool is a kind of reboot that won’t take the last Wolverine movie into account. Here’s what she said about
:
So Deadpool will be a dark, snarky, very funny movie: well that’s tantalizing! Hope she will keep her word about this Deadpool movie and that it will be as witty as the comic books!

Judging from Milla Jovovich’s face on the picture above, I guess she’s being abducted by the aliens!

The movie New Moon isn’t released yet, but you probably know that the Twilight crew is already working hard on Eclipse, the third opus of the Twilight Saga. If they’re filming so soon, it’s because Summit Entertainment want to release the next movie as soon as possible. That’s why Twilight 3, Aka Twilight Eclipse, will be release early next year, on June 30, 2010!
So here’s the official photo of Twilight Eclipse in high-res:
“As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella (Kristen Stewart) once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward (Robert Pattinson) and her friendship with Jacob (Taylor Lautner) — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death.”
Expect lot of action with this new Twilight movie. And with Director David Slade helming the film, it’s probably gonna be gothically dark. But don’t worry the romance between Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) is still the central theme, and as they’re slowly losing their inhibitions, it’s getting hot!

We got our hands on a series of pictures of Splice,, the upcoming sci-fi movie produced by Guillermo del Toro, directed by Vincenzo Natali and starring Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley:

I wonder what animal DNA is used to create that chimera… Because of the tail and the shape of her feet I’d say the DNA is coming from a reptile. Any guess?

20th Century Fox has greenlit the production of a movie sequel to Mirrors, the remake horror movie starring Kiefer Sutherland. Mirrors 2 will be directed by Victor Garcia (who once brought us Return to the House on Haunted Hill). The film will be based on a script by Matt Venne. Surprisingly there is already a synopsis online:
Plot:
“After losing his fiancee in a car crash, for which he blames himself, suicidal Max Matheson reluctantly takes a job as a night watchman at his father’s Mayflower Department Store. When his co-workers are killed off in gruesome and horrible ways and Max begins to see a mysterious young woman in all the store’s mirrors, desperate to communicate with him, he fears he’s losing his mind, or that he may be the next victim.”
Filming of Mirrors 2 is set to start in November, so the movie will probably be released in Summer or Fall 2010.
I wonder if Mirrors 2 will come up with a scene as gruesome as that creepy bathtub scene from the first film: Continue reading »
Thanks to MTV we have some update about the upcoming live action Warcrat movie. Director Sam Raimi, who is set to helm the movie Warcraft, told them that Screenwriter Robert Rodat (who penned ‘Saving Private Ryan’) has been hired to undertake the challenge that’s ahead. He also confirmed that the movie would be somehow based on ‘Arthas: Rise of the Lich King’, the Warcraft novel by Christie Golden. There could be a movie sequel to Independence Day 2 if Director Roland Emmerich finds enough support. Indeed, he’s been talking about a potential Independence Day 2 movie to MTV:
I’d be thrilled by a new Independence Day movie. But what could be the plot of a sequel? A new wave of aliens coming to avenge those who died in the explosion of the alien mothership that was destroyed by Will Smith’s Trojan horse? Or maybe it would be about a few aliens surviving the final counter-attack and who have since infiltrated our world?
Any guess about the plot of Independence Day 2? Any advice for Roland Emmerich?

Splash News spotted Tom Cruise in the midst of a stunt on the set of he movie Wichita:
Plot of Wichita:
“An action-comedy that begins when a small-town woman (Cameron Diaz) has a chance encounter with a mysterious man (Tom Cruise). He is either the man of her dreams or, perhaps … her nightmares. Amid shifting allegiances and unexpected betrayals, they are swept up in a whirlwind of globe-hopping adventure and world-changing secrets.”
Two years ago I wouldn’t be interested in a comedy movie starring Tom Cruise. But I’ve been flabbergasted by his performance in Tropic Thunder and I’m actually quite impatient to see how the movie Wichita is going to turn out!

Director Darren Bousman (who once brought us Saw II and Saw III) is working on Mother’s Day, a remake of Charles Kaufman’s 1980 horror thriller movie of the same name. This new Mother’s Day movie is starring Jaime King, Deborah Ann Woll, Briana Evigan, Alexa Vega, Shawn Ashmore, and Rebecca De Mornay. It will be released on May 9, 2010.
Here below a first picture of Mother’s Day:
Not sure I want to watch this one… I’m afraid that Mother’s Day will be as horribly violent as the movie ‘The Strangers’… The kind of movie that shows gratuitous violence, and that makes you feel bad after watching…

The Flash, that superhero in red spandex who is gifted with super-speed, is likely to come in theaters at full speed sooner or later! Indeed, Warner Bros has been planning a Flash movie since a while. The rumor thought it was canceled, but the Flash is still kicking and alive: Scriptwriter Dan Mazeau who has been hired to pen the screenplay of this upcoming Flash movie told IGN that the film is definitely moving forward:
The Flash had many incarnations along the years. I would like the film to focus on Barry Allen: a police scientist who gained super-speed when bathed by chemicals after a shelf of them was struck by lightning. But some are hinting at Wally West (Barry Allen’s nephew) as the focus of the Flash movie.
My preference for Barry Allen comes from the 1990’s TV series: Continue reading »

And it seems Disney is planning some special Tron 2 event for the next comic con, maybe the Daft Punk would go there to promote Tron legacy! Would be so awesome!

The cast of Predators, the new Predator movie directed by Nimrod Antal and produced by Robert Rodriguez, has been announced:
– Royce (Adrien Brody): main character, a Steve McQueen-type
– Cuchillo (Danny Trejo): a Mexican enforcer from a drug cartel who has twin uzi strapped to his back
– Nikolai (Oleg Taktarov): a frightening, Russian bear-of-a-man, armed with a four barrel, gas powered, rotary machine gun
– Isabelle (Alice Braga): a tough-as-nails woman armed with a sniper rifle and speaks French
– Stans (Walton Goggins): A prisoner with a shaved head, a scorpion tattoo on his neck and armed with a prison-made knife
– Mombassa (Mahershalalhashbaz Ali): An African member of the Sierra Leon death squad who’s not afraid to die
– Hanso (Louiz Ozawa): a bad-ass Japanese Yakuza enforcer
– Edwin (Topher Grace): a small unassuming man who is formerly one of FBI’s most wanted
Adrien Brody (The Pianist) is a surprising choice as the lead character of Predators. I suppose that this new Predator movie won’t be as manly as the first film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. But this ensemble cast is still quite appealing and they could deliver a great Predators movie. Let’s knock on wood for that!
