A Roman centurion (Michael Fassbender), who was made prisoner, is running from savage Pict horsemen.
A Roman platoon facing the enemy.
When I watch the picture of the scene with Michael Fassbender running I realize that we’re living in a much more peaceful time than before! Having furry savages running after you in the forest: scary! Those asserting that our ancestors were wiser than we are today are just wrong! Thank you God for civilization has evolved a lot (and for the best!) since those dark ages!
;-P
There is no denying that those handsome young men are impressive! They must have trained for month to become so fit! They deserve their roles: they’ve got the wolf spirit in them!
:)
Take a look (thanks to Empire Online) to this picture of Chloe Moretz as Hit girl, in the upcoming movie Kick-Ass directed by Matthew Vaughn and based on the comic book of the same name by Mark Millar:
(Click on the picture to enlarge it.)
Hit Girl is just 11 years old, and she’s her Big Daddy (Nicoals Cage)’s daughter: together they terrorize and wipe out the villains by night…
Here what Director Matthew Vaughn has to say about her:
“Think Jodie Foster, Natalie Portman and Uma Thurman rolled into one. She’s an 11 year-old and she’s the ultimate assassin. She kills, I think, 20 people in a minute.”
Director Matthew Vaughn
Kick-Ass is going to be a hell of a sick movie!

Pictures of a set of Star Trek movie collector’s card have shown up online. You may take a look to those new pictures of J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek here below:
In a not so surprising movie Summit Entertainment is once again selecting a different director for Eclipse, the third movie in the Twilight Saga. This time Director David Slade’s got the job. So Chris Weitz because he is officially too busy delivering a great New Moon movie won’t be helming the movie Eclipse.
David Slade directed the vampire movie ’30 Days of Night’ so the choice is not so odd. Here’s the lucky Spade: But we can but wonder about his ability to render the full spectrum of emotions from Stephenie Meyer’s novel. Can’t say that ’30 Days of Night” was romantic:
And romance is definitely a dimension not to miss in a Twilight movie!
Below a few words from Stephenie Meyer and Summit Entertainment about David Spade directing the movie Eclipse:
I am thrilled that David Slade will be directing ECLIPSE. He’s a visionary filmmaker who has so much to offer this franchise. From the beginning, we’ve been blessed with wonderful directorial talent for the Twilight Saga, and I’m so happy that ECLIPSE will be carrying on with that tradition.
Stephenie Meyer
Stephenie Meyer’s ECLIPSE is a muscular, rich, vivid book and we at Summit looked long and hard for a director who could do it justice. We believe we have found that talent in David Slade, a director who has been able to create complex, visually arresting worlds. We cannot wait to see the ECLIPSE he brings to life and brings to the fans eagerly awaiting its arrival in summer of 2010.
Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production.
Twilight 3 Plot, Synopsis:
“Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.”
Let’s hope that David Spade and Summit Entertainment will keep in mind that they have to deliver a ROMANTIC vampire movie!

South African filmmaker Neill Blomkamp, who once brought us the Halo short films, has been working on District 9, his first feature film. Disctrict 9 is a sci-fi movie starring Jason Cope, Robert Hobbs and Sharlto Copley. It will be released on August 14, 2009.
Plot:
“An extraterrestrial race forced to live in slum-like conditions on Earth suddenly find a kindred spirit in a government agent that is exposed to their biotechnology.
The aliens are called the ‘Non-Humans’ and are forced to work the Multi National United company (MNU for short). A kind of apartheid discriminating the non-humans has been enforced. Throughout the film, the Non-Humans will try to free themselves from MNU’s grasp.”
Thanks to Slashfilm, here below a first look at Sharlto Copley as Wikus, a Multi-National United agent who’s been infected by alien goo: (Click on the picture to enlarge it.)
A viral website has been set up for District 9 (here): they were obviously inspired by Cloverfield.
Quite sure that District 9 will shape up as the surprise of this Summer. Neill Blomkamp did indeed a good job with his Halo short films and I believe he can stretch his skills to deliver a great sci-fi feature movie.

We’ve got a new series of pictures from Whatever Works, Woody Allen’s latest movie starring Larry David and Evan Rachel Wood:
(Click on a picture to enlarge it.)
Plot:
“Whatever Works revolves around an eccentric man (Larry David) taken into a series of adventures and encounters with his friends from Greenwich, a young woman from the South (Evan Rachel Wood), and her parents.”
Michael Giacchino (the composer behind Alias, Lost, Mission: Impossible III, and Speed Racer) was in charge of composing the music for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek.
“I grew up listening to all of that great Trek music, and that’s part of what inspired me to do what I’m doing […] You just go in scared. You just hope you do your best. It’s one of those things where the film will tell me what to do.”

The movie H2 will pick up at the exact moment the first movie stopped and follow the aftermath of Michael Myers murderous rampage through the eyes of heroine Laurie Strode (played by Scout Taylor-Compton).
Some may be reluctant to admit that Rob Zombie’s take on the Halloween movies is really adding something better to the franchise, but that’s not my case: I do believe that Rob Zombie is doing great with his reinterpretation of Halloween.
I bet that Halloween 2, aka H2, will be as frighteningly entertaining as the first opus by Rob Zombie.

The full cast list of the Twilight Saga New Moon, aka twilight 2, has been announced by Summit Entertainment. We knew already for Dakota fanning as Jane and Michael Sheen as Aro. But the final cast of New Moon is still including some new actors: Daniel Cudmore as Felix, Christopher Heyerdahl as Marcus, Charlie Bewley as Demetri, Cameron Bright as Alec, and Graham Greene as Harry Clearwater.
Let’s learn more about their roles in the movie New Moon:
Graham Greene as Harry Clearwater
Harry Clearwater was a tribal elder of the Quileute tribe, and father of Seth Clearwater and Leah Clearwater. He was also a close friend of Charlie Swan’s and the two of them shared a love of fishing. Harry was happily married to Sue Clearwater until he died of heart attack during New Moon.
Christopher Heyerdahl as Marcus
Marcus is one of three vampires in Italy who live what Edward described as a very civilized and educated lifestyle. Carlisle found them while on his own search for the truth behind his nature. The Italian vampires tried to cure Carlisle of “his aversion to his natural food source,” but they failed. Their likeness was depicted in several painting by Solimena.
Daniel Cudmore as Felix
Felix is one of the guards of the Volturi. He is a violent person who is very strict and enjoys serving out punishment to people who disobey the Volturi laws – during New Moon, he is one of the members of the guard who attempts to kill Edward Cullen for the crime of exposing the vampire race (a crime which he found was not committed).
Cameron Bright as Alec
Alec is a member of the Volturi and is one of the highest ranked guards. He has a sister named Jane (played by Dakota Fanning). Alec has an extremely powerful gift which is equally powerful as his twin Jane’s. He has the ability to cut off a person’s senses. He can make them blind, deaf, and numb to any feeling if he wishes to. When he uses his gift, it appears in the form of a clear hazy mist.
Charlie Bewley as Demetri
Demetri is a member of the Volturi Guard. His special ability is Tracking. He catches the “tenor” of a person’s thoughts, and is drawn to it. It is believed that he would not be able to track Bella, because she is protected from mind-based abilities.

Directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the guys behind the Crank movie series, have been interviewed by Collider and they’ve hinted at a third Crank movie, even stating that they’re thinking about going 3D with Crank 3!
Crank 3 or Crank 3D, whatever the title, I bet Jason Statham will be back as hitman Chev Chelios in this movie sequel to Crank High Voltage: so much fun for him in those movies!
Amy Smart who plays the role of Chev Chelios’ wife should be back too, she talked about Crank 3 to Io9:
“I know definitely that they are talking about a third film but I have no idea what the story would be.”
Actress Amy Smart
Any idea how Jason Statham could get cranked again in the movie Crank 3?
:)
Comments Off on Michael Sheen Aro Twilight New Moon
Michael Sheen, best known for playing the role of Lucian the werewolf (actually a lycan) in the Underworld movie series, has been officially confirmed in the cast of in the upcoming movie Twilight 2, aka New Moon. But this time he is going to play the role of a vampire as Aro, the leader of an Italian vampire clan called the Volturi.
Aro is one of three vampires who lead the Volturi. He is widely accepted as the overall leader of the Volturi. Aro is blessed with superhuman strength and speed, and has vastly enhanced senses. He also possesses the supernatural ability to read minds; his ability is far more powerful than even Edward Cullens’, as he is capable of hearing every thought a person has ever had. However, he requires physical contact to use this ability, and cannot read minds from a distance.
Summit Entertainment and Director Chris Weitz said that they had to chase Michael Sheen for him to sign on as Aro. Chris Weitz is quite glad to get this actor on board the New Moon movie, and highlights the importance of Sheen’s role:
“Michael’s role is so important because he’s the head of all vampires. Aro is, on the surface, a very gracious and friendly vampire, but beneath that he is a tremendous threat.”
Director Chris Weitz
So let’s hope that this actor will be really committed to the success of the Twilight Saga New Moon beyond his paycheck… I mean, Michael Sheen is a star but he has to show respect and modesty in front of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga. I suppose that Chris Weitz wants Michael Sheen in the cast in order the movie New Moon to appeal to a larger public.
