Director Gore Verbinski has been working on A Cure for Wellness, an upcoming supernatural horror thriller movie based on a script written by Justin Haythe and starring Dane DeHaan, Mia Goth, Jason Isaacs, Adrian Schiller, Annette Lober, and Eric Todd. The end of Independence Day 2 obviously allows a new installment in the blockbuster science-fiction franchise. And actually there are already plans for Independence Day 3. Director Roland Emmerich even hinted at the direction the third film will take:

Yep, that sentient alien white orb from Independence Resurgence is going to share revolutionary technologies with mankind and we will join forces with other alien species to ring the fight to the evil locust-like alien hives across the galaxy.

I did enjoy both Independence Day movies, so I would totally welcome Independence Day 3. Let’s hope the film enter production soon!

Actor Jamie Dornan has been spotted on the set of Jadotville, the upcoming drama thriller movie directed by Richie Smyth from a script by Kevin Brodbin based on the book by Declan Power:

Plot synopsis:
“Set in 1961, during the Congo crisis, Jadotville follows Irish general Pat Quinlan (portrayed by Jamie Dornan) and his 150 troops, whom Hammarskjold (Mikael Persbrandt) and the UN had sent to protect the city after Katanga’s breakaway. For six days and nights, they were attacked by 3,000 Congolese government soldiers who were supported by French and Belgian mercenaries hired by the mining companies.”

The Conjuring 2 is performing rather well in theaters: it has already grossed $187 million worldwide for a $40 million budget. So yep, the studios are definitely planning a sequel. And James Wan is actually already considering a potential story for the third installment in the horror movie franchise:

“Ed and Lorraine Warren do have a lot of stories so I think, organically, if we’re lucky enough to tell future chapters, there’s a lot of stuff we could be pulling from. […] I do have something specific but I’m not going to say it. But I will say this — I do think Conjuring 1 and 2 are both set in the 1970’s, I think Conjuring 3 has got to be set in the 1980’s.”
