Gi Joe Movie Trailer for Superbowl 2009

In early December Jason from Nuke The Fridge wen to a test screening of the movie trailer of GI Joe Rise of Cobra. Here his description of the GI Joe trailer he saw:

Update: the superbowl trailer of GI Joe Rise of Cobra is now available:

[…] What can I say about it? Well, it was horrible. No, actually it was worse than horrible.

The trailer begins with some jets zooming by and dropping some bombs. Then we see Dennis Quaid as Hawk talking to members of a new elite fighting force he says has been put together to fight terrorism.

We see a couple of terrorist attacks, some G.I. Joe guys dressed like Snake Eyes jumping out of a plane and the Eiffel tower being topped by what looks like some green ooze.

Next we see some quick shots of a number of characters like Scarlett, Channing Tatum’s Duke on a motorcycle, Sienna Miller as the Baroness sliding down a staircase railing, and a quick shot of Snake Eyes and Stormshadow fighting. About the Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow fight…it looks about as bad as a fight from the “Double Dragon” movie from the early 90’s.

Finally we get another quick editing job of some action sequences that go by really too quick to make anything out, and then finally there is this really lame sequence featuring some horrible CG work, as a couple of rockets are launched at some Joes dressed again to look like Snake Eyes. They do this dive / twirl through mid air where they some how avoid the rockets as they swirl by.

The “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra” title appears on screen followed by “Summer 2009.” In all the trailer was about a minute long. I was told they are testing the trailer for debut as a possible Super Bowl commercial.

There was no footage of Destro, Zartan, or Cobra Commander. More than likely because they look so bad, based on the above described footage. From the trailer, it looks like this is going to be a horrible movie. Way too cheesy for my taste anyways.

So I suspect that the Super Bowl is when we will be seeing this first teaser trailer. […]

GI Joe Movie

The movie being scheduled for August 2009 then a trailer during the 2009 Super Bowl in February would be a good timing I agree. I’m impatient to see this GI Joe movie trailer myself: the description above isn’t appealing, but I have hope that the production team is taking into account the results of the test screenings and that the final version of the Superbowl trailer of GI Joe Rise of Cobra will be better.

State of Play Movie Trailer with Russel Crowe and Ben Affleck

State of Play MovieDirector Kevin Macdonald has tackled the movie adaptation of British TV series State of Play. The plot of the six hour mini-series has been condensed to fit two hours, and the location changed to Washington, D.C. In the lead cast: Ben Affleck and Russel Crowe, respectively as a young politician and an investigative journalist. The movie State of Play is scheduled to be released on April 17, 2009.

Here below the first official movie trailer of State of Play:

STATE OF PLAY

Plot:
“Handsome, unflappable U.S. Congressman Stephen Collins (Ben Affleck) is the future of his political party: an honorable appointee who serves as the chairman of a committee overseeing defense spending. All eyes are upon the rising star to be his party’s contender for the upcoming presidential race. Until his research assistant/mistress is brutally murdered and buried secrets come tumbling out.

McCaffrey (Russel Crowe), has the dubious fortune of both an old friendship with Collins and a ruthless editor, Cameron (Helen Mirren), who has assigned him to investigate. As he and partner Della (Rachel McAdams) try to uncover the killer’s identity, McCaffrey steps into a cover-up that threatens to shake the nation’s power structures. And in a town of spin-doctors and wealthy politicos, he will discover one truth: when billions are at stake, no one’s integrity, love or life is ever safe.” (Source: Coming Soon)

Director Macdonald said that State of Play explores the topical subjects of journalistic independence and the relationship between politicians and the press. Well, judging from this State of Play movie trailer I’d say that the film just plays with the usual prejudices of Hollywood against politicians…

In the role of the young politician they should have chosen a black actor: Ben Affleck is a great actor besides being handsome, but with an Afro-American actor State of Play would have been more in touch with the new paradigm of America’s political world!

Hope to get some preview clips of State of Play soon.

Shawn Levy Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian

Ben stiller - Night at the Museum Battle of the SmithsonianDirector Shawn Levy talks about Night at the Museum 2, aka Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian:

Night at Museum Battle of the Smithsonian Featurette

“This movie [Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian] is in five different museums, brings artworks to life, aircrafts, rockets, astronauts it’s a way bigger adventure. And we’re proud of the first movie but this one is bigger in scope, it’s more visual, it’s every bit as funny and it may even more emotional because of the love story [between Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) and Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams)].”

Director Shawn Levy

Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian is a movie that can positively influence a childhood: bring your kids to watch it!

From Paris With Love Movie Trailer with John Travolta

From Paris With Love MovieProducer Luc Besson and Director Pierre Morel, who previously worked together on Taken, team up again on a new action movie From Paris With Love, which is based on a script co-written by Besson. The film is starring John Travolta and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. I’d like to give a green card to Besson and Morel right away: they make movies the American way! And they hire great talents from Hollywood for their movies.

The movie From Paris With Love should be released in 2009.

Here below a first look at the official movie trailer of ‘From Paris With Love’:

From Paris With Love Movie Trailer

FROM PARIS WITH LOVE

Plot:
“A young embassy employee (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) hooks up with an American spy (John Travolta) in Paris. The spy is insane but damn effective!”

At first sight the plot of From Paris With Love may not stand out from the crowd for its originality, even if the plot takes place in Paris, France. Still, I believe that Besson and Morel will deliver a great action movie.

I hope John Travolta will stay bald: he looks great! Not sure about that, but maybe, they get inspired by French goalkeeper Fabien Barthez’ hairstyle:

Or maybe John Travolta was envious of Tom Cruise’s baldness in Tropic Thunder:

John Travolta wants to be as bald as Tom Cruise - From Paris with Love
If you’re bald yourself you have a moral duty to support From Paris With Love! I will!

9 Movie trailer

Movie 9Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov are co-producing the movie 9, an upcoming CGI animated science-fiction movie created and directed by Shane Acker. 9 is animated by Attitude Studio (in Luxembourg) and by Starz Animation (in Toronto), with a few sequences done by Duncan Studios in LA and will be released by Focus Features. The film should be released on September 9, 2009, yeap that’s 9.9.9!

The lead voice actors are Elijah Wood, Christopher Plummer, Martin Landau, John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly and Crispin Glover.

Here below the first official 9 movie trailer:

9 Movie Official Trailer

Plot:
“When 9 (Elijah Wood) first comes to life, he finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world. All humans are gone, and it is only by chance that he discovers a small community of others like him taking refuge from fearsome machines that roam the earth intent on their extinction. Despite being the neophyte of the group, 9 convinces the others that hiding will do them no good. They must take the offensive if they are to survive, and they must discover why the machines want to destroy them in the first place. As they’ll soon come to learn, the very future of civilization may depend on them.”

9

Those doll-like creatures evolving in a post-apocalyptic background look really strange and appealing. I’d say that 9 is a Coraline movie for grown ups.

If you’re wondering about the explosive soundtrack of this 9 trailer it’s the song ‘Welcome Home’ by Coheed and Cambria.

The Code Movie Trailer

The Code MovieThe Code (also title Thick as Thieves) is an upcoming heist movie directed by Mimi Leder and starring Morgan Freeman, Antonio Banderas and Radha Mitchell. I prefer the former movie tittle: Thick as thieves sounds much more funny than The Code! But I suppose that some cold-feet marketing executive vetoed the title and change it to The Code… More mainstream maybe, but so trivial… Besides, curiously, there is no release date yet for the USA, and it looks like that Taiwan (in January) and Spain (in February) will have the premiere of The Code….

Here below the first movie trailer of the Code (an international Code trailer from Taiwan actually):

The Code Trailer with Morgan Freeman and Antonio Banderas

THE CODE

The Bait, The Bounty, The Catch

Plot:
“A veteran thief recruits a younger crook to help him pull off one final job in order to repay his debt to the Russian mob. Mitchell plays a temptress whose romantic liaison with a thief (Banderas) threatens to come between him and his partner in crime, her godfather (Freeman).”

The plot of movie of The Code does not seem to bring anything new but Morgan Freeman and Antonio Banderas make a good duo. Also, Radha Mitchell looks so sexy when she dances! So shall give The Code a try!

Tom Cruise Valkyrie Clip

Valkyrie Movie directed by Bryan Singer, starring Tom Cruise as StauffenbergDirector Bryan Singer enrolled Tom Cruise as Colonel Stauffenberg in the movie Valkyrie. Here a few movie clips of Valkyrie:

Valkyrie Preview Clips

Valkyrie – We have to kill Hitler
Plot synopsis:
“In Nazi Germany during World War II, as the tide turned in favor of The Allies, a cadre of senior German officers and politicians desperately plot to topple the Nazi regime before the nation is crushed in a near-inevitable defeat. To this end, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, an Army officer convinced he must save Germany from Hitler, is recruited to mastermind a real plan. To do so, he arranges for the internal emergency measure, Operation: Valkyrie, to be changed to enable his fellows to seize control of Berlin after the assassination of the Fuhrer. However, even as the plan is put into action, a combination of bad luck and human failings conspire on their own to create a tragedy that would prolong the greater one gripping Europe.”

Colonel Stauffenberg was a real hero, so sad his attempt at assassinating the evil Hitler failed…

New Ulm Movie New In Town Clip

New Ulm Movie with Renee Zellweger - New in TownThe movie isn’t exactly titled New Ulm, it’s actually New in Town… But even if filming was done in Canada, the story does take place in New Ulm, Minnesota. So let’s rather call it the New Ulm movie.

Take a look to this New in Town clip, er, I mean New Ulm movie clip:

Are you such a silly girl? You can’t pee outside?

The story of New in Town is about a corporate dominatrix who get tamed when she moves from Miami to the country town of New Ulm… Well, the scene above is cute, isn’t it?

By the way, this innocent movie could unwillingly spark a controversy: –> ill-chosen words in the movie New Town

Will the production company change the scene? Or will they ignore the event?

Night at the Museum 2 Movie Trailer

Night at the Museum 2 MovieThe first official teaser trailer of Night at the Museum 2, aka Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian, has been released:

Night at the Museum 2 Trailer

NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM 2

In the world’s biggest museum something huge is about to go down!

When everything comes to life there’s one man for the job:

Ben Stiller

Ben Stiller seems to really enjoy his role in Nthe Night at the Museum movies series. Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian looks like a fun movie, and I’m glad that the Smithsonian is getting a moment of glory in our theaters. The Smithsonian is probably my favorite museum.

I also hope that the movie Night at the Museum 2, aka Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian, will spur again interest in History among our youth.

Nothing But The Truth Clip Kate Beckinsale and David Schwimmer

Kate Beckinsale and Matt Dillon - Nothing But The truth MovieA preview clip of Nothing But The Truth has been released. The scene features Kate Beckinsale and David Schwimmer:

Nothing But The Truth

I should put you in touch with my tailor….

I quite agree that David Schwimmer is not the most fashionable actor… But the guy isn’t that much handsome either, so anyway, can’t put the blame on him for this.

To tell nothing but the truth I’m not fashionable either with my wig! Joking, i don’t have use of a wig: I’m proud to be utterly bald!
;-P
