A first featurette has been released for Dead of the Dead, the new zombie movie directed by George Romero (who’s like a living god in the zombie genre). The clip features some behind-the-scenes footage and also a few interviews of the film crew:
Dead of the Dead First Footage
I really enjoy the part with the featured zombie Steve Barton: the big guy is talking like a kid about playing as a zombie in a movie directed by George Romero.
The movie is taking place on an island, so it’s probably local zombies we saw in this featurette of Survival of the Dead, because I don’t think zombies can swim…

Comments Off on George Romero Survival of the Dead
The world could end in a cataclysmic apocalypse in 2012, but if it doesn’t then it will civilization shall fall because of an apocalyptical zombie plague, like in Survival of the Dead, George Romero’s latest zombie movie (formerly known as George A. Romero’s Island of the Dead, …Of the Dead or Island of the Dead).
Update: Here’s the first Survival of the Dead trailer:
SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD TRAILER
Here below the first movie pictures of Survival of the Dead:
(Click on a picture to enlarge it.)
Plot:
“In a world where the dead rise to menace the living, rogue soldier Crocket (Alan Van Sprang) leads a band of military dropouts to refuge from the endless chaos. As they search for a place ‘ where the shit won โ t get you, ‘ they meet banished patriarch Patrick O โ Flynn (played with zeal by Kenneth Welsh), who promises a new Eden on the fishing and ranching outpost Plum Island. The men arrive, only to find themselves caught in an age-old battle between O โ Flynn โ s family and rival clan the Muldoons. It turns out that Patrick was expelled from the isle for believing that the only good zombie is a dead zombie, while the Muldoons think it โ s wrong to dispatch afflicted loved ones, attempting to look after their undead kinfolk until a cure is found. But their bid for stability on the homestead has turned perverse: the undead are chained inside their homes, pretending to live normal lives โ and the consequences are bloody. A desperate struggle for survival will determine whether the living and the dead can coexist.”
The only way to get rid of a zombie plague would be to nuke the contaminated areas. Taking care of the zombies, like this family does in the movie Survival of the Dead, would just hasten the end of Mankind because zombies are irrationally nasty!

This new picture of Halloween 2 featuring Laurie Strode Below wearing a clown mask and holding a knife behind a woman in distress cause some speculation on Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2:
The movie Buried, directed by Rodrigo Cortes, is based on an ambitious concept: the movie mostly takes place inside a coffin! Could be a boring experimental movie, but with Ryan Reynolds in the lead role it still manages to arouse my interest. If such a famous actor accepts the challenge it must be because the script is damn good. And according to the online rumor it seems it is.
Update: Here’s the first movie trailer of Buried!
BURIED
Here below the first official pictures of the movie Buried:
(Click on a picture to enlarge it.)
Plot:
“Paul is a U.S. contractor working in Iraq. After an attack by a group of Iraqis he wakes to find he buried alive inside a coffin. With only a lighter and a cell phone it’s a race against time to escape this claustrophobic death trap.”
If I was buried alive like that, I think I’d be paralyzed by despair and fear… And If I was miraculously saved, I think I’d still have nightmares for the rest of my life…

A year later, Terence โ struggling with his addictions to sex, Vicodin and cocaine โ finds himself in the battle to bring down drug dealer Big Fate, who is suspected of massacring an entire family of African immigrants.”
This Bad Lieutenant movie looks awesome: it’s a well balanced mix of action and dark humor! And Nicolas Cage’s insane performance is definitely worth watching!

Three new pictures of Solomon Kane, the upcoming fantasy movie starring James Purefoy, have popped up via Bloody Disgusting:
(Click on a picture to enlarge it.)
This movie adaptation of Solomon Kane probably comes too late to mesmerize us (we’ve seen too many movies on the same theme), but it doesn’t look too bad. And I’m confident it will be entertaining.
