Motherhood Movie Trailer

Motherhood MovieI suspect Director Katherine Dieckmann to have a secret agenda with Motherhood, her latest comedy movie starring Uma Thurman: she wants to curb our national birth rate! Just watch the movie trailer of Motherhood below to better understand what I mean:

MOTHERHOOD

For every woman who’s ever dreamed of being a mother:

It’s time to wake up to reality!

Plot:
“In Manhattan, a mother of two preparing for her daughter’s sixth birthday party has no idea of the challenges she’s about to face in order to pull off the event.”

‘Motherhood is about accepting things you cannot control’, not sure that my wife who’s a real control freak (don’t tell her please!) would agree with that…

Ondine Movie

The movie Ondine, an upcoming drama fantasy movie directed by Neil Jordan, is starring Collin Farrell along Stephen Rea, Alicja Bachleda and Alison Barry. The film will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September, but there is no official US release date yet.

ONDINE MOVIE TRAILER

Here below a first look at the movie Ondine:

Plot:
“The film is a lyrical, modern fairy tale that tells the story of Syracuse (Farrell) an Irish fisherman whose life is transformed when he catches a beautiful and mysterious creature (Bachleda) in his nets. His daughter Annie (Barry) comes to believe that the woman is a magical creature, while Syracuse falls helplessly in love. However like all fairy tales, enchantment and darkness go hand in hand.”

Real beautiful pictures for the movie Ondine. Hope the whole thing will look as good.

By the way Collin Farrell looks great as fisherman!

Astro Boy Trailer

Here’s a new trailer of Astro Boy, it gives a much better look to the CGI animated movie from Imagi Studios:

Astro Boy Full Length Trailer

ASTRO BOY

Plot:
“An origin story set in futuristic Metro City, Astro Boy (Freddie Highmore) is about a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist in the image of the son he has lost. Unable to fullfill the grieving man’s expectations, our hero embarks on a journey in search of acceptance, experiencing betrayal and a netherworld of robot gladiators, before he returns to save Metro City and reconcile with the father (Nicolas Cage) who had rejected him.”

I have the impression Imagi Studios have been somewhat inspired by the the work of Japanese filmmaker Hayao Myazaki. I really like that: it gives a perspective that suits to Astro Boy.

GI Joe 2 Confirmed

The movie sequel to GI Joe has been confirmed. Paramount’s vice chairman, Rob Moore, announced indeed that a sequel will soon go into development. The cast of the first movie will be back for GI Joe 2: it’s in their contract and anyway, that’s an offer they wouldn’t refuse. From a conference in Australia some time ago we know that Director Stephen Sommers is interested in helming the new GI Joe movie, but Rob Moore didn’t confirm if Stephen Sommers will keep his job.

GI Joe 2 Movie Trailer

I’m damn glad they’re going ahead with GI Joe 2. The first film was like 2 hours of action non stop with plenty of sci-fi gadgets: I really enjoyed the film. Just one thing I hope they do better in GI Joe 2 though: please allocate more money to the CGI budget. And give more screen time to Rachel Nichols (who plays the sexy Scarlett)!

Legion Movie

It seems that Paul Bettany is a busy actor who enjoys movies dealing with a religious theme (Creation and Priest) : he got the lead role as Archangel Michael in the movie Legion, an upcoming action fantasy movie directed by Scott Stewart. The movie Legion will be released on January 22, 2010.

The Beautiful and the Damned Movie

The beautiful Keira Knightley will play the role of Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald in The Beautiful and the Damned, an upcoming biopic movie directed by John Curran and based on a script by Hanna Weg. The film will show Zelda’s relation with her husband F. Scott Fitzgerald, the famous writer who wrote The Great Gatsby (you may have seen the recent movie adaptation of one of his short novels, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button).

Here below a first teaser poster of The Beautiful and the Damned (fan made?):

(Click on the poster to enlarge it.)

Plot:
“The true story of Zelda Fitzgerald (and her famous husband Scott), the Jazz Age icons who lived large, soared high and crashed very hard.”

The couple were described as embodiements of the Jazz Age and the Roaring Twenties: young, rich, beautiful, and energetic. The film title comes from F. Scott Fitzgerald second novel in which the writer tells the story of a 1920s socialite and presumptive heir to a tycoon’s fortune, the relationship with his wife Gloria, his service in the army, and alcoholism. Well, the book is believed to be largely based on Fitzgerald’s relationship and marriage with Zelda Fitzgerald. So the movie title was well chosen!

Toward the end of the novel, Fitzgerald even references himself via a character who is a novelist:

“You know these new novels make me tired. My God! Everywhere I go some silly girl asks me if I’ve read ‘This Side of Paradise.’ Are our girls really like that? If it’s true to life, which I don’t believe, the next generation is going to the dogs. I’m sick of all this shoddy realism.”

From The Beautiful and the Damned, by F. Scott Fitzgerald

There is no denying that those artists love to have complicated lifes… Well it give good material for movies like The Beautiful and the Damned!

Peter Jackson The Lovely Bones

Here’s a new featurette clip for The Lovely Bones in which Director Peter Jackson along with stars Soirse Ronan, Mark Wahlberg and Rachel Weisz introduce us to the movie based on the famous novel of the same name written by Alice Sebold:

The Lovely Bones Featurette
Actress Soirse Ronan shows a remarkable maturity for a young actress. The Lovely Bones movie owes a lot to Peter Jackson’s direction, but Saoirse Ronan really makes the whole thing credible with her performance. I guess it’s not the last time Director Peter Jackson will want to work with her.
