The movie “All The Boys Love Mandy Lane’ finally gets a release date in the USA. Well, actually it’s but a limited release… which is quite surprising when you think about the quality of this movie: it’s a fresh take on the teen slasher genre!

Anyway, here’s Mandy Lane release date: it’s on July 17, 2009.

Plot:
“Sixteen-year-old Mandy Lane (Amber Heard) is an unattainable girl, everyone’s object of desire. In an attempt to advance her position in the social pecking order, the gorgeous track star shuns her old friend Emmet, an awkward outsider. She’s in with the cool kids now, and surely they don’t want her hanging with the freak. Mandy’s new ‘friends’ invite her out to a family ranch for the weekend and she agrees, seeing it as an excellent opportunity to cement her new friendships. Once at the ranch, all the boys start to make their moves – each one hoping to be the first to attain the unattainable Mandy Lane. As night falls and the booze, drugs, and hormones take over, things are said and advances made which can never be reversed. Suddenly, sweet Mandy finds herself pit in a brutal struggle for survival against someone whose interest she has rejected.”

The mutant Cajun is likely to get his own spin-off movie. Such a move by Marvel would make sense because Gambit can boast quite a large following among Comic book fans. This mutant can use kinetic energy to stylishly throw supercharged cards at his enemies. He’s got a real panache and laddies fall for him more than often.

The upcoming Wolverine movie is introducing the character (played by Taylor Kitsch):

It is said that Taylor Kitsch signed for three films. So we may bet that Gambit will have his own spin-off live action movie.

Nothing official yet though. And because of the impressive line-up of movies based on Marvel’s heroes in the coming years, it won’t be released any time soon…

Nice to see Robert Pattinson in such a role: he may play the role of Edward the manly vampire in Twilight but he isn’t afraid to pass for queer as Dali in Little Ashes (can’t say he is a protean actor for doing this though: Robert Pattinson looks indeed quite natural in this role… not saying that he’s gay, but…)

Zombie slayer Alice (Milla Jovovich) will be back for a fourth installment of Resident Evil! Paul W.S. Anderson is indeed damn decided to produce the Resident Evil 4, aka Resident Evil Afterlife (or Biohazard Afterlife in Japan). Filming is scheduled to start this fall 2009. So it should be released during the second half of 2010.

The story of Resident Evil 4 should take place in Tokyo in Japan and in Alaska (with Toronto standing in for Alaska, is guess that even with the crisis it still cheaper to film in canada…). Patrick Tatopoulos will return and be in charge of the creature effects while Michael Lantieri will be the new Special FX supervisor (in terms of the practical effects).

Bloody disgusting scenes of zombies feasting on human bodies ahead for sure! But I hope that Resident Evil 4 will find a better balance between pure action and plot…

Anyway I’ll still enjoy watching Alice (Milla Jovovich) smashing crazy bloodthirsty zombies in the movie Resident Evil 4!
