Take a look (thanks to Empire Online) to this picture of Chloe Moretz as Hit girl, in the upcoming movie Kick-Ass directed by Matthew Vaughn and based on the comic book of the same name by Mark Millar:
(Click on the picture to enlarge it.)
Hit Girl is just 11 years old, and she’s her Big Daddy (Nicoals Cage)’s daughter: together they terrorize and wipe out the villains by night…
Here what Director Matthew Vaughn has to say about her:
“Think Jodie Foster, Natalie Portman and Uma Thurman rolled into one. She’s an 11 year-old and she’s the ultimate assassin. She kills, I think, 20 people in a minute.”
Director Matthew Vaughn
Kick-Ass is going to be a hell of a sick movie!
;-P
Pictures of a set of Star Trek movie collector’s card have shown up online. You may take a look to those new pictures of J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek here below:
We’ve got a new preview clip of the movie Wolverine in which Logan, aka Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), is really mad at Creed, aka Sabertooth, and wants to kick his furry buttock:
In a not so surprising movie Summit Entertainment is once again selecting a different director for Eclipse, the third movie in the Twilight Saga. This time Director David Slade’s got the job. So Chris Weitz because he is officially too busy delivering a great New Moon movie won’t be helming the movie Eclipse.
David Slade directed the vampire movie ’30 Days of Night’ so the choice is not so odd. Here’s the lucky Spade: But we can but wonder about his ability to render the full spectrum of emotions from Stephenie Meyer’s novel. Can’t say that ’30 Days of Night” was romantic:
And romance is definitely a dimension not to miss in a Twilight movie!
Below a few words from Stephenie Meyer and Summit Entertainment about David Spade directing the movie Eclipse:
I am thrilled that David Slade will be directing ECLIPSE. He’s a visionary filmmaker who has so much to offer this franchise. From the beginning, we’ve been blessed with wonderful directorial talent for the Twilight Saga, and I’m so happy that ECLIPSE will be carrying on with that tradition.
Stephenie Meyer
Stephenie Meyer’s ECLIPSE is a muscular, rich, vivid book and we at Summit looked long and hard for a director who could do it justice. We believe we have found that talent in David Slade, a director who has been able to create complex, visually arresting worlds. We cannot wait to see the ECLIPSE he brings to life and brings to the fans eagerly awaiting its arrival in summer of 2010.
Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production.
Twilight 3 Plot, Synopsis:
“Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.”
Let’s hope that David Spade and Summit Entertainment will keep in mind that they have to deliver a ROMANTIC vampire movie!
:)
The Catholic hierarchy does not really stand Dan Brown’s work and is quite pissed off by Director Ron Howard’s movie adaptation. Ron Howard can but be glad: that’s free promotion for his new movie Angels and Demons starring Tom Hanks. But he tries to play down the controversy, fearing that rank-and-file Catholic believers would start to listen to their narrow-minded priest:
“I believe Angels & Demons treats the Church with respect — even a degree of reverence — for its traditions and beliefs.”
Director Ron Howard
Not sure he’s sincere but I don’t give a dam (my grandmother do though, and will boycott Angels and Demons…): I just know that Angels and Demons looks like an entertaining movie!
Here below some new preview clips of Angels and Demons:
Santa Maria Della
Inspector Olivetti (Pierfrancesco Favino) arrive to find a fire inside the church.
We must defend ourselves.
Camerlengo (Ewan McGregor) pleads with the Cardinals to go public.
One Way Portal
Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) and Vittoria Vetra (Ayelet Zurer) rush to deliver a warning.
Breaking Out
Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) and Chartrand (Thure Lindhardt) are locked in an air-tight vault.
Regular movie audiences will probably enjoy the movie Angels and Demons, but I can understand that over-sensitive believers may frown upon Ron Howard’s movie.

Under Attack!
Poor straw men! The evil-looking sewing snake beast is hunting them! But our little straw men fight back: they aren’t that an easy game for the beast!
Plot:
“When 9 (Elijah Wood) first comes to life, he finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world. All humans are gone, and it is only by chance that he discovers a small community of others like him taking refuge from fearsome machines that roam the earth intent on their extinction. Despite being the neophyte of the group, 9 convinces the others that hiding will do them no good. They must take the offensive if they are to survive, and they must discover why the machines want to destroy them in the first place. As they’ll soon come to learn, the very future of civilization may depend on them.”
Those straw men rock! No wonder Timur Bekmambetov and Tim Burton are producing the movie 9! Let’s hope that the whole movie will deliver as in this preview clip of 9.

South African filmmaker Neill Blomkamp, who once brought us the Halo short films, has been working on District 9, his first feature film. Disctrict 9 is a sci-fi movie starring Jason Cope, Robert Hobbs and Sharlto Copley. It will be released on August 14, 2009.
Plot:
“An extraterrestrial race forced to live in slum-like conditions on Earth suddenly find a kindred spirit in a government agent that is exposed to their biotechnology.
The aliens are called the ‘Non-Humans’ and are forced to work the Multi National United company (MNU for short). A kind of apartheid discriminating the non-humans has been enforced. Throughout the film, the Non-Humans will try to free themselves from MNU’s grasp.”
Thanks to Slashfilm, here below a first look at Sharlto Copley as Wikus, a Multi-National United agent who’s been infected by alien goo: (Click on the picture to enlarge it.)
A viral website has been set up for District 9 (here): they were obviously inspired by Cloverfield.
Quite sure that District 9 will shape up as the surprise of this Summer. Neill Blomkamp did indeed a good job with his Halo short films and I believe he can stretch his skills to deliver a great sci-fi feature movie.
:)

Once again I shall ask God to bless Michael Bay! God knows this Transformers movie Sequel looks awesome. This clip of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen just makes my day, actually, I can even tell the clip makes my week-end!!
:)

“As Harry Potter begins his 6th year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he discovers an old book marked mysteriously ‘This book is the property of the Half-Blood Prince’ and begins to learn more about Lord Voldemort’s dark past.”
I can barely wait for harry Potter 6 to come out!
