Director Stephen Sommers composedly announced that there will be a movie sequel to GI joe during a conference in Australia. I guess it’s good news because the first movie is actually setting things for something much better ahead. From the tidbits that leaked online we know indeed that the upcoming GI Joe Rise of Cobra movie is a kind of Origins story for Cobra Commander.
GI Joe 2 – GI Joe Movie Sequel
At the beginning of the GI Joe movie Cobra Commander (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is actually called the Doctor. He’s working for James McCullen who’s a the head of the powerful company MARS.
But at the end the Doctor becomes the Cobra Commander we know, an evil genius all powerful and damn Machiavellian, and James McCullen can but step down to become Cobra’s minion under the name of Destro (Cobra gifts him with a mask made of nanocytes).
Cobra Commander and his minion Destro – GI JOE 2The yet-to-be-released GI Joe is suffering from some bad buzz online, can understand this by looking at the poor CGI of the exoskeletons… But I guess it won’t hinder GI Joe from being a blockbuster: lot of action, plenty of special effects, and the whole thing based on a famous franchise, you bet people are going to watch it in theaters. I know I will! Can’t miss that!
But I’m much more thrilled by GI Joe 2! The origins of Cobra are maybe interesting but what I want, and I guess GI Joe fans too, is to see a full-fledged Cobra Army with its mighty Machiavellian commander at its head.
GI Joe can be a hell of of a movie if they do things right. Could be a perfect mix of action and science-fiction!
So let’s hope that Director Stephen Sommers will have the means to bring us this GI Joe 2 movie!
:)
Take a look to the first movie trailer of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland:
You’ve got a very important date
March 5th, 2010
It has been confirmed that Scriptwriters Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton will pen the screenplay of the movie Saw 7. So we may expect the same kind o twisted traps as in the previous Saw movies. And because the legend never dies, Actor Tobin Bell is back too, as the insane Jigsaw, he will be appear through flashbacks I suppose (actually Tobin Bell said he’ll keep his role till at least the movie Saw 8).
The director of Saw 7 hasn’t been announced, but we may fairly bet that it will be Editor-turned-Director Kevin Greutert (who directed the yet-to-be-released Saw 6 movie). But he may have to share the helm with Scriptwriter Marcus Dunstan, who made his directorial debut this year with The Collector. Update: David hackl is back to direct Saw VII
Regarding the release date of Saw 7: nothing official yet, Lionsgate will probably respect the tradition and release Saw 7 in October 2010.
Any suggestion to Marcus Dunstan Patrick Melton? What do you want to see in the movie Saw VII?
:)

Take a look to the latest movie poster of The Box:

It’s been announced by Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. and Legendary Pictures that the World of Warcraft movie ahead of us will be directed by Sam Raimi (who brought us the Spiderman movies).
Fortunately they hire someone with a good track to tackle the live-action movie adaptation of Warcraft. But let’s hope that Sam Raimi will keep in mind that Warcraft isn’t the same as a comic book. The huge universe of Warcraft is a rich fantasy setting that revolves around the epic conflict between the opposing forces of the Horde and the Alliance (to keep it simple: think Humans vs Orcs). It’s a kind of Lord of the Ring world, but I’d say with more action and politics.
Warcraft doesn’t have a fandom, it has followers, like a religion may have. So Director Sam Raimi should really think twice before starting the project: I wouldn’t want to piss off Warcrfaft gamers if I was Sam Raimi…
So Director Sam Raimi, if you don’t want to have to watch your back all your life, you’d better make a great Warcraft movie!

Between Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) I can’t decide! It’s gonna be hard for Tony Stark aka Iron Man to keep focus with such beautiful women around.

Here below the first official picture of Ben Kingsley as the evil Nizam in the upcoming Prince of Persia movie.
Nizam (Ben Kingsley) is King Shahrman’s brother who plans to kill the ruler and blame the murder on Prince Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal).

Walt Disney is bringing another classic to life: the movie Rapunzel, based on the classic German fairy tale Rapunzel by the Brothers Grimm, is indeed being produced. It will be a CGI animated movie, but Disney intends indeed to create the impression of a drawing, non-photorealistic rendering is going to be used, making the surface look like it is painted but still containing depth and dimensions.
The movie Rapunzel is set for a release on Christmas 2010.
Here below two concept arts of the movie Rapunzel:

I guess many women would kill to know Rapunzel’s secret to have so long silky golden hair. Maybe it will be revealed in the movie Rapunzel!
