Director John Hillcoat has been working The Road, a movie adaptation of a book of the same name written by Cormac McCarthy. The movie was due for this November but it has been postponed for whatever reason… And it looks like that the movie will actually have its release in 2009. Anyway, here The Road teaser poster:

I was surprised to see the name of Guy Pearce on top this poster of the Road, his name is even above the name of Viggo Mortensen, so I checked the cast again:

If i can link this to the original book written by I think that Guy Pearce is the final savior who will take in charge the Man’s son.

The Uninvited, upcoming horror movie starring Emily Browning and Arielle Kebbel, is but the remake of a Koran movie. And the original movie, titled A Tale of Two Sisters, was quite good actually, take a look to the trailer of the original movie at:

Whiteout is an upcoming movie adaptation of the 1999 comic book by writer Greg Rucka and artist Steve Lieber. The film is directed by Dominic Sena and is starring Kate Beckinsale and Gabriel Macht in the lead roles. The action thriller Whiteout is slated to be released on September 11, 2009.

Plot:
“A U.S. marshal (Kate Beckinsale), the only one assigned to Antarctica, must investigate a murder on the frozen continent within three days before the arctic winter begins. She crosses paths with a U.N. operative (Gabriel Macht), also investigating the murder.” (Source: Wikipedia)

The film is primarily set in a bright world of ice and sunlight, an unconventional approach to the murder mystery genre. Both real and fake snow were used in production.

Even if the plot is set in Antartica it does not make the film that much exceptional so far… I hope there will be some good acting to complete the landscape…

But for once the original author of the graphic novel, Greg Rucka, applauded the film adaptation of his source material (not like the bitter Allan Moore about the Watchmen movie). So there is reason to hope for Whiteout!

MTV has talked to Frank Pearce, VP of product development at Blizzard Entertainment. And he confirmed that there is a World of Warcraft movie in development.

If such an epic fantasy/adventure movie based on the popular video game series is ever released it would be a massive box office success! Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the movie World of Warcraft to happen soon!
