And here a few words from Jon Favreau about what to expect in this Iron Man movie sequel:

“How many superheroes are open about their true identities? We wanted to play with that idea. But it obviously has consequences — in his relationships, on the team. There are a lot of areas we can explore.”

Jon Favreau

Iron Man 2 is currently filming. And if all goes well it should be released on May 7, 2010.

DBZ Movie

Dragonball Z Movie - DBZ MovieThe movie DB Evolution was like crap and was a relative theatrical failure. But the word is that Fox is still thinking about making a movie sequel to Dragonball Evolution. I suppose that this Dragonball 2 movie, if it ever happens, would be the adaptation of Dragonball Z, the second chapter of Goku’s life.

Message to Fox people: if you really want to do a DBZ movie, try to do it right this time. Maybe you should hire the people from Funglisoft to help you (believe me, you really need help, because so far we all know that Fox barely understands what Dragonball is about…)

Why Funglisoft? Well because they definitely know the world of Dragonball and have even produced a great short film based on it. Here a clip featuring a fight between Gohan (Goku’s son) and the cyborg siblings:

DBZ The Movie

They had a really small budget to do this, but they got it all right! So how come Fox, with so much money, just produced a Power Rangers flick (understand DB Evolution)?

Anyway, you can still erase the stain from Goku’s outfit if you were to hire the right people!

Whiteout Movie

Kate Beckinsale isn’t afraid to get cold for the sake of acting: she’s got the lead role in Whiteout, an upcoming thriller movie directed by Dominic Sena set in Antartica. Here a new picture of Witheout released by Warner Bros:

Expendables Movie

Sylvester Stallone has enlisted a few chaps to make The Expendables, an upcoming action movie that should be released in April 2010. In the cast: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li and Dolph Lundgren to name a few. The film is written and directed by Sylvester Stallone himself: so you bet there’s going to be a lot of action ahead!

The Expendables Movie in 2010

The picture below, showing Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham, was taken on the set of The Expendables in Brazil:

The Expendables

Plot:
“A team of mercenaries called the Expendables head to South America on a mission to stop a dictator who has caused destruction for the last 20 years. The government sets to plan the assassination to put an end to the violence.” (Source: Wikipedia)

The cast of The Expendables is rather manly but Sylvester Stallone playing this down:

“It’s a 1980s movie with today’s technology. But in those days, the female leading character was a helpless girl, waiting to be rescued by the hero. Now we have a very strong female character that evolved to this form while I was writing the script. But except for this, yes, it’s a 1980s movie.”

Sylvester Stallone

Well dear Stallone no need to tame down your movie: all we want is a lot of rambo-esque action!
:)

Magneto Movie

Magneto MovieSci Fi Wire talked to producer Lauren Shuler Donner about the spin-off Magneto movie, here what she said:

“We have a great script. Honestly, we have all been just so focused on getting Wolverine out that we didn’t take the time to sit down and explore ‘What are the movies we’re going to do next within the genre?’ We will do that. We will do that. We all want to. Magneto is a fantastic script, and hopefully we’ll make it. I don’t know.”

X-Men franchise producer Lauren Shuler Donner

She also confirmed that the development of Magneto depends on the success of Wolverine.

I don’t worry much then: Wolverine will rock the box-office and we will get a Magneto movie. They definitely have to film the screenplay drafted by Scriptwriter Sheldon Turner. The synopsis of Magneto that was released earlier was quite promising indeed:

Magneto Movie

The original X-Men Origins film began with a prologue that showed the character as a child being led to a concentration camp by Nazis and that is the period in which the Magneto film will take place. This setup will allow a future villain to at least flirt with the designation of protagonist since the character will be seen almost exclusively in his formative years.
The storyline will heavily involve Professor X, the wheelchair-using X-Men leader. That character was a soldier in the allied force that liberated the concentration camps. The professor meets Magneto after the war and while they bond over the realisation that they are alike in their special powers, their differences soon turn them into enemies.

The sooner they release this Magneto movie the better it is! I know they’re thinking about making a movie titled X-Men First Class, well, please do Magneto first!

Final Destination 4 Movie

Warner Bros. released a new still of Final Destination 4, aka Final Destination Death Trip 3D:

Final Destination 4 Trailer

(Click on the picture to enlarge it.)

Plot:
“On what should have been a “typical day at the races” for McKinley Speedway, Nick O’Bannon (Bobby Campo) has a grisly premonition of a race car fatally crashing and sending debris into the stands, gruesomely killing his friends, and causing an overhang to collapse on him. He awakens, not being able to shake the feeling of how real his vision appeared, he panics, and just in time, persuades the group of teenagers to leave the bleachers. Immediately afterward objects begin to fly into the public as his frightening dream turns into a tragic reality. Unfortunately for Nick, alongside his girlfriend Lori (Shantel VanSanten) and her best friend Janet (Haley Webb), this is only the beginning. As the survivors begin to die one-by-one in even more terrifying ways than they had originally, Nick must figure out how to cheat Death once and for all before he too reaches his final destination.”

Those youngsters are so scared of the Grim Reaper… I suppose they aren’t in hurry to reach their final destination!
;-P

Gambit Movie

Gambit MovieThe mutant Cajun is likely to get his own spin-off movie. Such a move by Marvel would make sense because Gambit can boast quite a large following among Comic book fans. This mutant can use kinetic energy to stylishly throw supercharged cards at his enemies. He’s got a real panache and laddies fall for him more than often.

The upcoming Wolverine movie is introducing the character (played by Taylor Kitsch):

It is said that Taylor Kitsch signed for three films. So we may bet that Gambit will have his own spin-off live action movie.

Gambit Live Action Movie

A Gambit movie would likely focus on his origins.

Nothing official yet though. And because of the impressive line-up of movies based on Marvel’s heroes in the coming years, it won’t be released any time soon…

Hachiko the Akita Dog

Hachiko is an Akita dog. - Hachiko A Dog's StoryTake a look to a few pics of Hachiko A Dog’s Story, an upcoming drama family movie starring Richard Gere:

Hachiko A Dog Story Pictures

(Click on a picture to enlarge it.)

Hachiko, the Akita dog (BEWARE: those dogs are cute, but are damn annoying at home, no joking! think twice if you’re about to buy one!) , is found of his master (Richard Gere), it’s almost a love story! So you guess this dog’s sorrow when his dear master passes away…

Resident Evil 4 Movie

Resident Evil 4 MovieZombie slayer Alice (Milla Jovovich) will be back for a fourth installment of Resident Evil! Paul W.S. Anderson is indeed damn decided to produce the Resident Evil 4, aka Resident Evil Afterlife (or Biohazard Afterlife in Japan). Filming is scheduled to start this fall 2009. So it should be released during the second half of 2010.

More information at: Resident Evil 4 Movie Trailer

The story of Resident Evil 4 should take place in Tokyo in Japan and in Alaska (with Toronto standing in for Alaska, is guess that even with the crisis it still cheaper to film in canada…). Patrick Tatopoulos will return and be in charge of the creature effects while Michael Lantieri will be the new Special FX supervisor (in terms of the practical effects).

Bloody disgusting scenes of zombies feasting on human bodies ahead for sure! But I hope that Resident Evil 4 will find a better balance between pure action and plot…

Anyway I’ll still enjoy watching Alice (Milla Jovovich) smashing crazy bloodthirsty zombies in the movie Resident Evil 4!
