Plot synopsis:
“A gripping story about two sisters (Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood) who must fend for themselves after a massive power outage throws North America into chaos. Hidden away at their family’s remote country house, Nell and Eva gradually become aware of the severity of their situation, as the blackout continues and supplies dwindle.
Informed only by rumor, they fight intruders, disease, loneliness, and starvation. Over the course of the story, they are transformed from helpless though refined young women to powerful but completely primitive creatures.”
Well, at least they don’t have zombies roaming around… And decentralized energy (electricity production at or near the point of use) is easier than ever thanks to renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, biogas, or else). So I doubt our civilization would crumble… That said, am still impatient to see the film.
Do you think you could survive off the land?
Besides Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood, the cast also includes Max Minghella, Callum Keith Rennie, Michael Eklund, Wendy Crewson, Bethany Brown, Jordana Largy, Simon Longmore, Sandy Sidhu, and Brittany Willacy.
The film has yet to get an official release date.
