Comments Off on Superbowl Trailer Prince of Persia
Here’s the Superbowl trailer of Prince of Persia:
Prince Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) with the help of Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) won’t let the Sands of Time fall into the evil hands of Nizam (Ben Kingsley).
:)
The focus of this new promo clip of the upcoming Prince of Persia movie is on the Dagger of Time and the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that controls time:
The movie Prince of Persia of is directed by Mike Newell based on a script written by Jordan Mechner, the creator of the original game franchise the film is based on.
:)
Nizam, who’s King Shahrman’s brother, wants to rule the world with the help of the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world!
:)
Plot:
“A rogue prince and a mysterious princess in the mystical lands of Persia race against dark forces to safeguard an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time – a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.”
I’ve got mixed feeling regarding this movie adaptation of Prince of Persia: on one hand it looks damn good for a live action movie, but on the other hand I’m quite sure it would have been way better if it was all in CGI… Maybe it was too expensive, so they had to resort to real actors… Or they just assumed it would be better with real actors…
Anyway, I’m still quite impatient to watch the movie Prince of Persia.
:)
Director Mike Newel has been working on Prince of Persia the movie adaptation of the famous game franchise of the name. Here’s the Prince of Persia trailer:
Plot:
“Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a street urchin in 6th century Persia. After showing valor in battle, he is adopted by the king as his heir, so the king’s two sons will not fight over the throne.[1] He teams up with Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) to rescue the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that controls time, from the hands of the villainous nobleman, Nizam (Ben Kingsley).”
Jake Gyllenhaal looks ab it too clean as Dastan, but I don’t mind anymore after seeing this movie trailer of Prince of Persia The Sands of Time!
Jordan Mechner, the creator of the game, who wrote the script of the film, must be be really happy to see how good the movie Prince of Persia is.
:)
Comments Off on Dastan and Princess Tamina Prince of Persia Movie
A new picture of Prince of Persia The Sands of Time has been released. This new picture shows Jake Gyllenhaal as Dastan and Gemma Arterton as Princess Tamina sneaking into some underground place:
Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) got a nice hood on this picture, but he still looks too clean… Rub him in the dirt before shooting the film! Would look more real!
;-)
Two beautiful photos of Jake Gyllenhaal as Dastan and Gemma Arterton as Princess Tamina in the upcoming Prince of Persia The Sands of Time, aka PoP, SoT for the gamers, have shown up online:
I’d like to pin those pictures of Prince of Persia on my wall. Really nice shots! But because they look so good I worry about something… I’m afraid that Mike Newell’s Prince of Persia movie is going to be too sanitized… It’s too clean! I mean put some dirt on screen (do they need CGI nowadays for things and people to look dirty in movies?). Otherwise it’s gonna look fake…
;-P
Comments Off on Gemma Arterton as Princess Tamina Prince of Persia Movie
Thanks to this second POP poster we may have a first look at Gemma Arterton as Princess Tamina in Prince of Persia The Sands of Time, the ucpoming Movie directed by Mike Newell:
Princess Tamina is described as a feisty and exotic princess who knows what she wants. The lovely Gemma Arterton practiced horse riding in Madrid and did further training in London in order to amaze us all in her role in the movie Prince of Persia.
:)
Jake Gyllenhaal is the Prince of Persia in the upcoming movie adapted from the famous video game created by Jordan Mechner. Here below the first official poster of Prince of Persia:
Plot:
“Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a 6th century prince of Persia who teams up with Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) to rescue the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that controls time, from the hands of the villainous nobleman, Nizam (Ben Kingsley).”
Jake Gyllenhaal looks great as the Prince Dastan, but I’d rather see him as the hero of an Assassin’s Creed movie (i bet there will be a film one day!), he definitely has the profile for it!
:)
I don’t think that the fans of the game have much to worry about with Jake Gyllenhall in the role of Dastan: he looks great, I’m sure he’s perfect for the part.
The movie Prince of Persia, directed by Mike Newell, is set for a release on May 28, 2010.
:)
Plot / Synopsis:
“Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a 6th century prince of Persia who teams up with Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) to rescue the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that controls time, from the hands of the villainous nobleman, Nizam (Ben Kingsley).”
Cast:
– Jake Gyllenhaal as Prince Dastan, a sixth-century Persian prince. The character is nameless in the games; Jordan Mechner said he chose the name because it is the Persian word for “trickster”. Gyllenhaal estimated he gained five pounds of muscle for the role.
– Gemma Arterton as Tamina, a feisty and exotic princess. Arterton practiced horse riding in Madrid and did further training in London.
– Ben Kingsley as Nizam, King Shahrman’s brother who plans to kill the ruler and blame the murder on Prince Dastan.
– Alfred Molina as Sheik Amar, a mentor to Prince Dastan.
– Toby Kebbell as Dastan’s brother, head of the Persian army.
I was playing to Jordan Mechner’s Prince of Persia at the very beginning, when it was but a 2D platform game. But I didn’t follow with the following 3D versions. But I’m glad to see The Prince of Persia adapted into a live action movie.
:)
Jake Gyllenhaal got the lead role as Prince Dastan in the movie Prince of Persia The Sands of Time an upcoming cinema adaptation of the videogame of the same name created by Jordan Mechner. Here below, thanks to the Huffington Post (here), two new pics of Jake Gyllenhaal in the Prince of Persia:
(Click on a poster to enlarge it.)
There is no denying that Jake Gyllenhaal has really changed since his role in Donnie Darko: he’s become a really handsome man, that most girls would dream to hang out with I’m sure. Being bald I have more empathy with characters like Dr. Manhattan, but I bet that the hairy jake Gyllenhaal will amaze us with his interpretation of Prince Dastan.
The movie Prince of Persia, directed by Mike Newell, is expected to be released end of May 2010.
:)
It looks like the script of Prince of Persia The Sands of Time, the movie adaptation of the video game of the same name, has leaked online. Just click on the picture below to see the screenplay of Prince of Persia:
Comments Off on Prince of Persia Jake Gyllenhaal vs Ben Kingsley Movie Pictures
Jake Gyllenhaal is gonna kick Ben Kingsley’s ass in Prince of Persia The sands of Time, the upcoming movie adaptation of the video game of the same name. You may see some pictures from the movie sets at:
Jake Gyllenhaal’s physiognomy really matches Dastan’s! And Ben Kingsley is great as Nizam the ambitious vizier: on the picture above Kingsley looks like casting a spell (a friendly one though)!
:)
Game character Dastan from the video game Prince of Persia will have his own movie. Director Mike Newell is indeed working on a movie adapation starring Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead role.
Prince of Persia was originally inspired by One Thousand and One Nights, the famous collection of Arabian tales.
