When you were a child did the Tooth Fairy give you money or gifts in exchange for your baby teeth that had fallen out ? If yes, then it’s time to rejoice then: a feature film is dedicated to that generous fairy! The Tooth Fairy is an upcoming comedy family movie directed by Michael Lembeck and starring Dwayne Johnson aka the Rock. The film will be released on January 22, 2010.
The movie poster below gives us a first look at Dwayne Johnson as the Tooth Fairy:
(Click on the picture to enlarge it.)
Plot:
“A bad deed on the part of a tough minor-league hockey player (Johnson) results in an unusual sentence: He must serve one week as a real-life tooth fairy.”
Some may think that it’s gonna be a dumb movie, but I don’t care: I have to watch it! When I was a child, I wasn’t much fan of Santa Claus, but I was always waiting for the Fairy Tooth to come to pick up my fallen teeth in exchange of a few bucks.
:)
Plot:
“Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw’s legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw’s grand scheme is finally understood.”
Jigsaw is still alive through his insane legacy… Legends never die!

The Chipmunks Alvin, Simon and Theodore are back for a Squeakquel (contraction of squirrel squeak and sequel I guess…). We”ll be able to watch Alvin and The Chipmunks 2 The Squeakquel starting this Christmas, on December 25, 2009. But meanwhile let’s watch below the movie trailer of Alvin and The Chipmunks 2:
Alvin and The Chipmunks 2
Plot:
“Because of a freak accident involving Alvin and Dave Seville, they go to live with Dave Seville’s cool cousin Toby and must enroll in school just like every other kid. School presents new challenges to these rock stars, like dealing with peer pressure, school sports and of course, girls!
By ‘girls’ we mean the Chipettes who are managed by Ian Hawke, the Chipmunks greedy former manager who wants to turn them into the next big thing. At the outset, there is a rivalry between the Chipettes and the Chipmunks but in the end they realize that they make great friends and a great musical team!”
Things get always more complicated when girls are in, but it’s for the best: so much more fun with them around! And those Chippettes look so sweet. So I can be but impatient to see lovestruck chipmunks in the movie Alvin and The Chipmunks 2.

The upcoming Astro Boy movie produced by Imagi Studios won’t be a bloody hell, but still, it will be action-packed flick if this extended clip of Astro Boy is any indicator:
According to variety, Clint Eastwood ‘s next project would be a supernatural thriller titled Hereafter. He would direct the film and Matt Damon (who’s already starring in Clint Eastwood’s Invictus) would have the lead role.
The plot of Hereafter is kept secret, but it’s been described as in the vein of Shyamalan’s ‘Sixth Sense’. That description could have spoiled the movie Hereafter, but with Clint Eastwood helming the project, you can be sure that the film will be more than a plot twist and will emphasize the characters.
I think the title will change along the way, as it usually happens with Clint Eastwood’s movies. And there could one more reason to a title change: there’s already a drama movie (directed by Michael Patwin) with the same title that’s listed for a release in 2011…
Anyway, if the film is still released under the title of Hereafter, I’m quite sure it would eclipse the other one because of Clint Eastwood’s talent.

Fans of The Scary Movie series, a series of films which mainly specialize in spoofing popular horror films, are yearning for a fifth opus installment since a long time. And so far no real clue about why it wasn’t released earlier already. Here’s some Anna Faris’ insight:
“I’m not sure that there’s enough kinda iconic… scary… movies around […] if we’ve got enough films like that to go off on?”
Actress Anna Faris
Ok, it may be true that there was no real tentpole horror movie. But by now, one could list movies like Quarantine, The Orphan, The Midnight Meat Train, the Collector, or even the new installments of the Saw movie series. IMDb is listing the film for 2011… They should start production now in order to release Scary Movie 5 earlier!
What other films do you think Scary Movie 5 should spoof?

Actor Michael Stuhlbarg got the lead role in A Serious man, an upcoming dark comedy directed by the Cohen Brothers. Here’s a new preview clip of A Serious Man:
A Serious Man – Hardly a crime
Larry (Michael Stuhlbarg) tries to get to the bottom of what’s going on.
“Nobody in this house is getting a nose job!”, that’s what I said to my wife last year!

A new Silent Hill movie has been greenlit. Producer Samuel Hadida said he will boost the production of SIlent Hill 2 once Resident Evil 4 is wrapped. Screenwriter Roger Avary, who wrote the script of the first Silent Hill movie, is back to pen the screenplay of the sequel.
No word yet if Director Christophe Gans is back to helm Silent Hill 2. Also no word if Radha Mitchell is reprising her role: I guess it will depend on the script Roger Avary will deliver. The story may pick up from the first film (with Radha Mitchell prisoner of some strange parallel dimension). But that’s not sure: they may want to differentiate from the first opus which didn’t fare as well as expected. So they could create a whole new story or produce something closer to one of the Silent Hill video games.
