Frog Princess Movie Trailer

There is a new Princess and the Frog trailer:

The Princess and the Frog Movie Trailer

THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG

Plot:
“Walt Disney Animation Studios presents the musical THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG, an animated comedy set in the great city of New Orleans. From the creators of The Little Mermaid and Aladdin comes a modern twist on a classic tale, featuring a beautiful girl named Tiana (ANIKA NONI ROSE), a frog prince who desperately wants to be human again, and a fateful kiss that leads them both on a hilarious adventure through the mystical bayous of Louisiana.”

The Princess and the Frog feels just like Aladdin. Normal, after all the same guys are working on it. Still no way I’d miss a fairytale infused with voodoo that brings us from the jazzy French Quarter of New Orleans to the swamp in the Bayou!

Valhalla Rising

Plot:
“Valhalla Rising begins on a desolate coast where the heads of warring clans meet in battle. For years, the most fearsome and successful fighter has been an enigmatic figure known only as One Eye (played by the inestimable Mads Mikkelsen, star of the first two Pusher films, as well as Casino Royale and Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky, also playing at the Festival).

Silent and lethal, One Eye has defeated everyone he’s encountered, but he’s treated more like an animal than a warrior. The only person he has any relationship with is the young boy who brings him food and water daily. Constantly caged and shackled, One Eye has drawn the attention of a new force now sweeping the countryside and displacing the society’s leaders: Christians.

Determined to claim territory for his faith, the leader of a band of Christians sets sail on an ill-fated odyssey to the Holy Land with One Eye and the young boy in tow. Referencing masters like Akira Kurosawa and Sergio Leone with a touch of Andrei Tarkovsky thrown in for good measure, Valhalla Rising shows how carnage, once invoked, has no fealty but to itself. Little separates the Christians from their pagan predecessors – they’re just as bellicose and bloodthirsty.”

So may argue, but I really think the world is getting better. Our uninhibited ancestors were nasty savages. The myth of a lost Golden Age of peace is just a fallacious creation. Peace isn’t in the past, but ahead of us. We’re no angels yet: our wars may have a larger scale than before, but there is less savagery and there is a world consensus that favor peace. Maybe one day, we’ll get rid of that violence, I’m a bit afraid though that lawyers would then rule the world…

Up in the Air Clip

Up in the Air MovieA first preview clip of Up in the Air, the upcoming comedy drama movie directed by Jason Reitman and starring George Clooney, is available online:

Ryan Bingham (George ClooneY) meets Alex (Vera Farmiga), the frequent-traveler woman of his dreams, for the first time

Plot:
“George Clooney plays Ryan Bingham, a 35 year old a career transition counselor at a Denver-based management consulting company, Integrated Strategic Management (ISM). Ryan travels around the country to terminate corporate employees. He does not have a personal life and he numbs himself with sex, booze and drugs. His life on the road comes to a halt when his company downsizes its travel budget. He is required to spend more time at home just as he is on the cusp of a goal he’s worked toward for years: reaching five million frequent flyer miles and just after he’s met the frequent-traveler woman of his dreams.”

George Clooney is a damn charming actor. Even when like in the movie Up in the Air he plays a not-so-friendly character!

The corporate world is a source of inspiration for Hollywood. We already had the Extract, The Informant will be released soon and we’ll get to see the movie Up in the Air quite soon.

Drew Barrymore Whip It

Whip It MovieDrew Barrymore introduces her to Whip It, a movie that marks her directorial debut, in this new featurette clip:

Whip It Featurette

I like the way she talks about her movie. Basically she says she wanted a movie that talks about real life but that’s still entertaining. Well judging from the material released so far for Whip It I think she managed to reach her goal. And I’m quite impatient to see Ellen Page joining that crazy roller derby league.
