:-)
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is the last film appearance of the late Heath Ledger, Oscar winner for The Dark Knight. Moviegoer Iszaham pointed us to this footage shown at the occasion of the Cannes Film festival:
Plot of the movie:
“In the present day, immortal 1,000-year-old Doctor Parnassus (Christopher Plummer) leads a travelling theatre troupe that offers audience members a chance to go beyond reality through a magical mirror in his possession. Members of the troupe include a sleight of hand expert, Anton (Andrew Garfield), and a dwarf, Percy (Verne Troyer), Parnassus had been able to guide the imagination of others through a deal with the Devil (Waits), who now comes to collect on the arrangement, targeting the doctor’s daughter (Lily Cole). The troupe, which is joined by a mysterious outsider named Tony (portrayed by Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell), embark through parallel worlds to rescue the girl.”
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is directed by Terry Gilliam.

I think some movies should never be released… G-Force, the latest Disney movie directed by Hoyt Yeatman, is one of those. Not because because it’s bad, not at all, but rather because I expect my kids to ask for their own team of rodents at home after watching this movie… Problem is, my wooden floor is incompatible with such pets. There is no denying that those rodents are cute though:

THE WORLD NEEDS BIGGER HEROES!G-FORCE
Gadgets, Gizmos, Guinea Pigs, in 3-D
Fortunately we’ve got a cat at home, so still have an excuse for vetoing the adoption of any guinea pig!

Do you remember the old TV series V that aired on NBC? It was a science fiction series about an alien invasion of Earth by a carnivorous race of reptilians (wearing a human skin too fool Mankind) known as “The Visitors”. I was quite found of the show, still remember the visitors eatings mouses and insects for breakfast!
Well we will be able to enjoy a brand new remake of the series on ABC!
Here below the trailer of V:
I like the new take on V: if I have to make a bold statement, I would even say that when there is a kind of Battlestar Galactica vibe in this new V series!
V is slated to debut in early 2010.
If you didn’t know the original V series or just feel some nostalgia, take a look to the original intro of V: Continue reading »
We’ve got three preview clips of Inglourious Basterds, the upcoming twisted World War II movie directed by Director Quentin Tarantino. Here the first clip:
Director Jonathan Mostow who once brought us Terminator 3 must have a thing for robots: Surrogates, his latest movie starring Bruce Willis and Radha Mitchell, is set in a world in which people use remote controlled bodies instead of working out their own flesh and blood bodies.
Watch bellow the first official Surrogates trailer:
How do you save humanity when the only thing that’s real is you?
Plot:
“In the near future, humans live in isolation and only interact through remote-controlled artificial bodies that serve as surrogates. When several surrogates are murdered, a cop (Bruce Willis) investigates the crimes through his own surrogate. The investigation forces the cop to bring his human form out of isolation and unravel a conspiracy behind the crimes.”
Can’t say that they parsimoniously used footage from the film to make this Surrogates trailer: feel like I saw the movie already… Can still be surprised though by the general feel of the film. Besides I believe in Bruce Willis’ ability to catch our attention.
Here’s the release date of Surrogates: September 25, 2009

There was some stupid controversy about the cast selected by M. Night Shyamalan for the Last Airbender, the upcoming movie adaptation of the animated series Avatar aired by Nickelodeon. But this first look at Noah Ringer as Aang, aka the Avatar, will conquer the hearts of even the most die-hard fans:
Just compare with the original Aang from the anime:
It seems that Shyamalan’s Airbender is shaping as a quite faithful adaptation. Will have more confimation with the movie trailer of the Last Airbender which will be shown in front of Transformers 2.

Forget Hansel and Gretel and their house made of gingerbread and candies, make place for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs: our technological era bring a new solution to an old recurring problem! Hungry? Call the weather man and ask for a cloud of meatballs, marshmallows or whatever you want!
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a funny animated movie directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, it’s not-so-loosely based on the book of the same name. Here a few pics:
Director Guy Ritchie is bringing a brand new version of Sherlock Holmes with his latest movie. The film is starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law respectively as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.
Here below the first official Sherlock Holmes trailer:
Now I understand why RDJ was chosen to play as Sherlock Holmes instead of Jude Law: RDJ is perfect for this somewhat clownish version of Sherlock Holmes. I mean easier to laugh with RDJ than with Jude Law… No offense Jude!
Guy Ritchie’s movie isn’t your grandfather’s Sherlock Holmes but I bet that the new generations will love it!
:)
Plot:
“After Bella (Kristen Stewart) recovers from the vampire attack that almost claimed her life, she looks to celebrate her birthday with Edward and his family. However, a minor accident during the festivities results in Bella’s blood being shed, a sight that proves too intense for the Cullens, who decide to leave the town of Forks, Washington for Bella and Edward’s sake (Robert Pattinson). Initially heartbroken, Bella finds a form of comfort in reckless living, as well as an even-closer friendship with Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Danger in different forms awaits.”
This poster shows what’s ahead with New Moon: a love triangle in which Jacob feels like he could win Bella’s heart… But Edward can’t be erased from Bella’s memory!
