The Reader, a movie adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Bernhard Schlink, is brought to us by director Stephen Daldry. It should be released in early January 2009.
The poster currently used for the promotion of the Reader in the USA is the white one, but I prefer the darker version: it would be a much better choice for the Reader!

Director Tony Gilroy brings us a new spy thriller movie titled Duplicity. The story revolves around two corporate spies with a romantic history who collaborate to carry out a complicated con. The film is starring Clive Owen, Julia Roberts, Tom Wilkinson, and Paul Giamatti. Duplicity is scheduled to be released on March 20, 2009.
Here below the first official Duplicity trailer:
Claire Stenwick Ex-CIA
Ray Koval ex-MI6
Two experts spies
Two rival corporations
One perfect plan
From the writer and director of Michael Clayton
comes a story about scheming, spying, stealing
and other adventures that couples share
DUPLICTY
Plot:
“Two corporate spies (Owen and Roberts) team up to manipulate a corporate race to corner the market on a medical innovation that will reap huge profits.”
Cast:
– Clive Owen plays a corporate spy for a rival pharmaceutical company;
– Julia Roberts plays a corporate spy for a rival pharmaceutical company;
– Tom Wilkinson plays the CEO of one of the rival companies;
– Paul Giamatti plays the CEO of one of the rival companies.
Trust is a dynamic variable in the world of spies. And it’s even more explosive when love gets in!
The duo Clive Owen / Julia Roberts is rather appealing. And judging from this trailer of Duplicity the movie nicely integrates a comic dimension! Duplicity seems to be a win!

The cinema industry is trying hard to make movie posters interactive. Not so long ago there were talking posters for The Spirit. Now we have a motion poster for Terminator 4 that brings together sound and picture in a nice animation (just click on the poster to launch the animation):
Olivier Megaton is the third director to work on a transporter movie after Corey Yuen for the first one and Louis Leterrier the second one. Megaton is actually a nickname, his real being Olivier Fontana. He was called megaton because he was born on the same day as the 20th Hiroshima Commemoration (August 6, 1965).
The nickname must influence his artistic vision: Transporter 3 is gonna blow us way for real! Just check this new Transporter 3 clip featuring an amazing car stunt:
I guess people will rush to theaters with even more enthusiasm! Hey, an awesome movie starring Keanu Reeves, and a trailer of Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman: that’s definitely something not to miss!
I wonder if this new Wolverine movie trailer will be the same as the one that leaked online a while ago… More probably a new Wolverine trailer I think.

The movie Taken was first scheduled for September 2008, but for some mysterious reason it was postponed… Fortunately, a US theatrical release of Taken is still on the agenda: Taken will be released on January 30, 2009.
:)
A new trailer of the upcoming Star Trek movie has been released. Almost the same as the previous one, but with a glimpse of Leonard Nimoy as old Spock at the end!
This movie poster of Notorious reall let you think that this is the original rapper! But of course it is not: his role is played by Jamal Woolar, who is also a rapper by the way.

Josh Flitter who’s playing the son of Ace Ventura (formerly played by Jim Carrey) won’t see a theatrical release of Ace Ventura 3 in which he has the lead role. The production company has indeed gotten cold feet and has decided that a direct-to-DVD release in March would be better.
Anyway, thanks to Cinematical, via Ramasscreen, we finally have a trailer of Ace Ventura Jr Pet Detective, aka Ace Ventura 3:
I must admit that the movie does not look that much edifying… but hey, one should not refuse to laugh, even if it’s laughing at the movie itself! So if you get a free DVD of the movie then you should watch Ace ventura 3: the dog in the movie is really worth a look!
A preview clip of Notorious, upcoming biographic movie based on the life of Notorious aka the B.I.G. and directed by George Tillman Jr, has been released:
B.I.G. (Jamal Woolard) is flirting with Faith Evans (Antonique Smith).
Thanks to music Christopher Wallace, aka The Notorious B.I.G., went from rags to riches. But his ascension was not without drawing envy. And he caught back by the dangerous world he went from: in 1997, a still-unsolved drive-by shooting took the 24-year-old’s life outside a Los Angeles party celebrating the Soul Train Music Awards given by Vibe magazine and Qwest Records…
The movie Notorious tries to see who the rapper really was, wants to go beyond the controversy.
:)
By the way, this is an out-dated poster of They Came From Upstairs since the release date has been pushed back to July 31, 2009. I suppose they see a bigger potential for the movie during Summer 2009.

Director John Hillcoat has been working The Road, a movie adaptation of a book of the same name written by Cormac McCarthy. The movie was due for this November but it has been postponed for whatever reason… And it looks like that the movie will actually have its release in 2009. Anyway, here The Road teaser poster:
The Road is the heartbreaking tale of a Man who tries to bring his son to safety: to do so they have to cross America through a post apocalyptic landscape haunted by cannibals…
I was surprised to see the name of Guy Pearce on top this poster of the Road, his name is even above the name of Viggo Mortensen, so I checked the cast again:
– Viggo Mortensen as the Man.
– Kodi Smit-McPhee as the Boy.
– Charlize Theron as the Wife (she appears in flashback).
– Michael K. Williams as a thief.
– Robert Duvall as an old, dying man.
– and Guy Pearce as a father wandering with his family.
If i can link this to the original book written by I think that Guy Pearce is the final savior who will take in charge the Man’s son.
