Director Kevin Muroe is bringing a new movie adaptation to screen: this time it’s Dead of Night, a movie based on the horror comic series, ‘Dylan Dog,’ created by Tiziano Sclavi. The film is starring Brandon Routh (the guy from Superman Returns) in the lead role along Sam Huntington, Anita Briem and Taye Diggs. No official release date yet, listed for 2009 at IMDb but more probably early 2010.
Here’s a first look at the movie Dead of Night:

A few words from Director Kevin Munroe:
Well basically, Munroe, he’s saying that Dylan Dog is like Superman (with no superpowers though…), so I suppose that Brandon Routh is a good fit for the role in the movie Dead of Night…

Repulsed by his appearance, Kyle’s callous father (Peter Krause) banishes him to Brooklyn with a sympathetic housekeeper (Lisa Gay Hamilton) and blind tutor (Neil Patrick Harris). As Kyle ponders how to overcome the curse and get his old life back, he chances upon a drug addict in the act of killing a threatening dealer. Seizing the opportunity, Kyle promises the addict freedom and safety for his daughter, Linda Taylor (Vanessa Hudgens) if she will consent to live in Kyle’s Brooklyn home. Thus begins Kyle’s journey to discover true love in this hyper-modern retelling of the classic ‘Beauty and the Beast’ story.”
My daughter is fan of Mary Kate Olsen so I guess I’m gonna hear a lot about this teen movie when it comes out in theaters. But i don’t mind the premise of the movie Beastly does not sound so bad after all and I do like the make up of the beast.
:)
Jon Favreau, who brought us Iron man, wrote and is starring in Couples Retreat, an upcoming comedy movie. Here a few pictures of the movie Couples Retreat:

The whole movie is just an excuse for Favreau to go get tanned in Bora Bora! And such a nice resort by the way! I’d be so happy to spend my holidays there! But it must be insanely expensive…

Edward Norton is the perfect for such dual roles (just think about Fight Club or Hulk). So no wonder that Director Tim Blake Nelson hired him for the lead role in Leaves of Grass!

The movie sequel to GI Joe has been confirmed. Paramount’s vice chairman, Rob Moore, announced indeed that a sequel will soon go into development. The cast of the first movie will be back for GI Joe 2: it’s in their contract and anyway, that’s an offer they wouldn’t refuse. From a conference in Australia some time ago we know that Director Stephen Sommers is interested in helming the new GI Joe movie, but Rob Moore didn’t confirm if Stephen Sommers will keep his job.
I’m damn glad they’re going ahead with GI Joe 2. The first film was like 2 hours of action non stop with plenty of sci-fi gadgets: I really enjoyed the film. Just one thing I hope they do better in GI Joe 2 though: please allocate more money to the CGI budget. And give more screen time to Rachel Nichols (who plays the sexy Scarlett)!

Trailer of Beastly:
The beautiful Keira Knightley will play the role of Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald in The Beautiful and the Damned, an upcoming biopic movie directed by John Curran and based on a script by Hanna Weg. The film will show Zelda’s relation with her husband F. Scott Fitzgerald, the famous writer who wrote The Great Gatsby (you may have seen the recent movie adaptation of one of his short novels, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button).
Here below a first teaser poster of The Beautiful and the Damned (fan made?):
The couple were described as embodiements of the Jazz Age and the Roaring Twenties: young, rich, beautiful, and energetic. The film title comes from F. Scott Fitzgerald second novel in which the writer tells the story of a 1920s socialite and presumptive heir to a tycoon’s fortune, the relationship with his wife Gloria, his service in the army, and alcoholism. Well, the book is believed to be largely based on Fitzgerald’s relationship and marriage with Zelda Fitzgerald. So the movie title was well chosen!
Toward the end of the novel, Fitzgerald even references himself via a character who is a novelist:
There is no denying that those artists love to have complicated lifes… Well it give good material for movies like The Beautiful and the Damned!
