Comments Off on Avatar Creating the world of Pandora
Here’s a new extended behind-the-scenes featurette in which The cast and crew take us on an in-depth look at the making of James Cameron’s epic:
Avatar – Creating the world of Pandora
Plot synopsis:
“A paraplegic marine (Sam Worthington) dispatched to the moon Pandora on a unique mission becomes torn between following his orders and protecting the world he feels is his home.”
Avatar was a great movie, no need to worry, there’s definitely a movie sequel to Avatar ahead of us. So let’s get ready for Avatar 2!
;-)
Plot synopsis:
“A paraplegic marine dispatched to the moon Pandora on a unique mission becomes torn between following his orders and protecting the world he feels is his home.”
The movie Avatar is now in theaters. And it’s damn worth watching! Don’t miss this epic science-fiction movie directed by James Cameron!
Conversation with Avatar’s James Cameron and stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana.
Zoe Saldana is so cute in her white dress! Too bad we won’t really see her in the movie Avatar: they used motion capture to create a female Na’vi based on her… She’s also lending her voice to the character. That’s great, but I’d rather watch the real beautiful Zoe Saldana than that giant blue alien thing!
:)
Avatar hasn’t been released yet, but there are already talks of a movie sequel to to Avatar. I don’t think that Director James Cameron is overconfident in planning so far ahead: the movie Avatar is obviously going a phenomenal blockbuster, so it completely makes sense to get ready for Avatar 2, or even Avatar 3.
Sam Worthington, who’s got the lead role in Avatar as Jack Sully, recently said that the cast of Avatar signed on for a potential trilogy:
“You work 18-hour days. I was on it for 14 months. Jim’s still editing. We’ll still be filming it up to the day it’s released — probably after the movie comes out, knowing Jim! That commitment is what makes him the man he is. It’s life or death. It’s war. That’s how he approaches movies… We’re signed for a trilogy. But I think I’ll be 94 by the time it finishes, to be honest. I know Jim’s got some ideas in his big head.”
Actor Sam Worthington
There are currently two rumors about the plot of Avatar 2:
– either the movie sequel to Avatar would explore further the planet Pandora:
“If the public likes Avatar, it’s a possibility. After all, here we are exploring the surface of the planet Pandora. The interior remains to be seen.”
Producer Jon Landau
– or Avatar 2 would move to space or even to a new planet:
“What would you think if I told you that should a sequel to AVATAR happen, it might not even take place on Pandora? It’s all up the air as of now. But remember I’m telling you this. Pandora is not the be all and end all of the Consortium.”
An anonymous, but well-informed source of MarketSaw
Haven’t seen the first film yet, but I think I would prefer the story of Avatar 2 to take place in space and new planets to be introduced. Those Na’vis, Pandora’s blue aliens, are just stingy savages who don’t want to share the planet Pandora’s resources, not sure it can give enough material for a second movie. But by expanding its horizon, and going outside of Pandora, Avatar 2 could become the best sci-fi movie franchise ever!
:)
A new clip of Avatar, the upcoming movie directed by James Cameron and starring Sam Worthington, has shown up online via Badtaste, you may watch it below:
Jack Sully (Sam Worthington) who’s paraplegic can’t walk, but once his spirit is connected to his avatar, there is a brand new world for him to discover: the gorgeous planet Pandora!
:)
The promotion of Avatar has definitely kicked into high gear: expect a lot of Avatar material to be released over the coming days till the final official release of James Cameron’s Avatar on December 18, 2009.
:)
In this new Avatar featurette, Actor Stephen Lang, who plays the role of Colonel Miles Quaritch the chief of security on Pandora, talks about his character’s mission and the themes and dynamics of the storyline, besides there is a lot of new footage of Avatar:
There is a new featurette for Avatar, the latest movie directed by James Cameron. This new Avatar featurette is focusing on the technologies seen in the movie:
That alien (Zoe Saldana) is sexy enough to turn Jack Sully (Sam Worthington) into a traitor to Mankind: he will teach to those damn aliens how to kill Human marines… Not exactly the kind of hero I want to praise, even if the movie does look good…

:)
If you go watch James Cameron’s Avatar, you definitely have to watch it in an IMAX theater and in 3D! The movie Avatar is just going to be so awesome in 3D!
:)
We got our hands on a clip of James Cameron’s Avatar. The clip features Jack Sully (Sam Worthington) as he is chased by some huge scary and hungry alien beast:
Fortunately we don’t have such monsters roaming our streets here on Earth! The Planet Pandora is is maybe beautiful, but it’s actually quite close to hell!
The movie Avatar is definitely going to be epic: a crazy adventure in a world full of danger!
:)
A series of short clips in which the actors introduce the characters they’re playing in James Cameron’s Avatar have been released. And I start wondering about something: in Avatar it seems most humans are played by white people and there are only black people and Native people playing as aliens (as the Na’vi from the planet Pandora)? Check for yourself:
Update: following this post (?), those official videos have been tagged as private by Fox in their youtube account…

The movie is gonna be great. But Jack Sully (Sam Worthington) is just like a communist traitor: he taught those nasty aliens how to kill fellow humans! May he burn in hell forever for he has really sinned against Mankind!
A bit less than two months before the official release of Avatar: I can barely wait! I definitely have to go watch this movie in the nearest IMAX theater!
:)
Plot:
“Avatar is the story of an ex-Marine on the planet Pandora who, as an Avatar – a human mind in an alien body – finds himself in a desperate fight for his survival and that of the indigenous beings called Na’vi.”
Gorgeous Avatar trailer isn’t it? The movie Avatar will hit theaters on December 18, 2009, be ready for an epic journey in the quixotic world of Pandora!

Here’s a first look at the are the unobtainium, the mineral mankind is looking for on the planet Pandora in the movie Avatar directed by James Cameron:
Unobtainium allows superconductivity any loss at room temperature. Superconductivity means that electricity can flow through this material without resistance, no resistance means not loss, so the system becomes ultra efficient: that’s what our grid needs!
Scientists can recreate superconductivity at very low temperatures, but that’s not worth it so far because too much it requires energy is put to reach those low temperatures. At least for now, Superconductivity at room temperature is like a Holy Grail. So you bet that if we were to find a material allowing superconductivity at room temperature we would rush to mine it, even if we would have to get rid of a few aggressive stingy local aliens.
;-P
The movie trailer of Avatar has been released online in glorious HD, enjoy below:
AVATAR MOVIE TRAILER
I’m quite impressed by this Avatar movie trailer of Avatar. I wish I had my own avatar to be able to wander on the surface of the planet Pandora like Jack Sully (Sam Worthington).

A new series of pictures of Avatar, James Cameron’s latest sci-fi movie, have been unveiled just to tease us all before the official release of the Avatar movie trailer which will happen in less than 8 hours from now:
Plot:
“A paraplegic ex-marine war veteran (Sam Worthington) is unwillingly sent to establish a human settlement on the distant planet of Pandora, only to find himself battling humankind alongside the planet’s indigenous Na’vi race in this ambitious, digital 3-D sci-fi epic from Academy Award-winning Titanic director James Cameron.”
Those flying machines from the movie Avatar look like fat bumblebees.
:)
On August 21, the world will get its first look at director James Cameron’s motion picture epic AVATAR, when Twentieth Century Fox and Cameron debut the film’s trailer everywhere – while select cinemas and IMAX theaters will screen extended footage prepared by the renowned filmmaker for this global “Avatar Day” event.
The picture above has been released just to tease us for the event. Behind Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) we may see a vat containing his avatar: Jake Sully’s human body is stuck in a wheelchair, but his spirit will be somehow connected to the alien body in the vat before it is sent to the planet Pandora’s surface.
A few more pictures that leaked from the upcoming movie trailer of Avatar: Continue reading »
Plot:
“The story’s protagonist, Jake Sully, is an ex-Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth. In order to participate in the Avatar program, which will give him a healthy body, Jake agrees to travel to Pandora, a lush rainforest environment filled with incredible life forms – some beautiful, many terrifying. Pandora is also the home to the Na’vi, a humanoid race that lives at what we consider to be a primate level, but they are actually much more evolved than humans. Ten feet tall and blue skinned, the Na’vi live harmoniously within their unspoiled world. But as humans encroach on Pandora in search of valuable minerals, Unobtanium, the Na’vi’s very existence is threatened – and their warrior abilities unleashed.
Jake has unwittingly been recruited to become part of this encroachment. Since humans are unable to breathe the air on Pandora, they have created genetically-bred human-Na’vi hybrids known as Avatars. The Avatars are living, breathing bodies in the real world, controlled by a human driver through a technology that links the driver’s mind to the Avatar body. On Pandora, through his Avatar body, Jake can be whole once again. Moreover, he falls in love with a young Na’vi woman, Neytiri, whose beauty is matched by her ferocity in battle.
As Jake slides deeper into becoming one of her clan, he finds himself caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth, and the Na’vi – forcing him to choose sides in an epic battle that will decide the fate of an entire world.”
Jake is kind of betraying his own race by siding with the Na’vi… Shouldn’t he think about mankind first? Well, better not to think too much about this, and let’s just enjoy the movie Avatar when it comes out!
:)
Director James Cameron has been relatively secretive with his latest movie Avatar. But it looks like FOX is gonna beat the drums during the upcoming San Diego Comic Con (which is just 3 weeks ahead). A poster of Avatar, featuring the face of a Na’vi has already been spotted in the streets of San Diego:
Plot:
“Avatar is set during the 22nd century on a small moon called Pandora, which orbits a gas giant, and is inhabited by the tribal Na’vi, ten foot blue humanoids that are peaceful unless attacked. Humans cannot breathe Pandoran air, so they genetically engineer human/Na’vi hybrids known as Avatars that can be controlled via a mental link. A paralyzed Marine named Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) volunteers to exist as an Avatar on Pandora, falling in love with a Na’vi princess and becoming caught up in the conflict between her people and the human military that is consuming their world.”
I hope that the movie trailer of Avatar will finally be shown during this Comic Con.
