Someone attending the 2009 Consumer Electronic Show (CES) was brave enough to turn on his camera phone while watching a preview clip of Pixar’s UP. So thanks to him we may enjoy below this bootleg clip of UP that just leaked online:
It does not feel as a usual Pixar movie, but still I’d be glad to watch the movie UP. I hope the voice of Russell, the kid, won’t be as deep in the final cut though…
:)
Wicthblade is maybe still at an early stage, but an early teaser poster of the movie is already out there:
(Click on the poster to enlarge it.)

This was indeed an early poster: the movie won’t be released in 2009, but later, hope not too much later…
Any guess about what actress could play the part? Who do you think would be the best fit for the Witchblade?
:)
Let’s watch those two clips of Underworld 3, aka Underworld Rise of The Lycans:
The main characters of Underworld 3 are:
– Michael Sheen as Lucian (Enslaved as a baby, Lucian has only been able to imagine the full extent of his Lycan powers. In the evolution from werewolf to Lycan, Lucian feels the responsibility of the Lycan race resting on his shoulders. At the same time, his love for the vampire, Sonja, complicates his desire for freedom from the Vampires.)
– Rhona Mitra as Sonja (Sonja is the daughter of the powerful Vampire Elder, Viktor. Beautiful and brave, her nightly patrols defend the Coven from the hoards of ferocious werewolves. Despite her father’s hatred for the Lycan race, she has fallen in love with the Lycan slave, Lucian. She battles between the desire to fulfill the responsibilities that come with her lineage and her willful nature. Because of her love for Lucian, she is sympathetic to the enslaved Lycans’ plight.)
– Bill Nighy as Viktor (One of three ruling Vampire Elders, Viktor is a haughty, ostentatious Vampire overlord nearly 1,000 years old. Like most Vampires, he has a severe loathing for Lycans but also a fascination with their unique strengths. Through slavery and torture, he has created a small but mighty force of enslaved Lycans. Despite his best efforts to govern the Coven, the Council members have begun to question his leadership.)
Plus a short scene for Kate Beckinsale:
– Kate Beckinsale as Selene (Beckinsale did not film new footage, a scene from Underworld will be used to bookend the film)
Opening this Friday, Underworld Rise of the Lycans is the third Underworld movie directed by Patrick Tatopoulos.

The US poster of Street Fighter The Legend of Chun-Li was rather bland. But this latest international Street Fighter is much more appealing:
(Click on the poster to enlarge it.)
STREET FIGHTER THE LEGEND OF CHUN LI
Her strength, her fury, her vengeance will become legend!
They could still make a better poster, but this one is already a good draft. One thing to correct asap though: Kristin Kreuk is pretty, Chun-Li herself is said pretty, so how the hell did they mange to make Kristin Kreuk look like a zombie on this poster of Street Fighter The Legend of Chun Li? Come on, show how pretty she is! Pretty does not mean weak when we’re talking about Chun-Li, just think about her Hundred Rending Kicks or about her Qiqong!

Take a look to this sneak preview of Ninja Assassin, upcoming action movie directed by James McTeigue and starring Rain, Rick Yune and Naomie Harris:
Ninja Assassin Sneak Preview Clip
Ninja Assassin was produced by Joel Silver and the Wachowski brothers. It was entirely filmed in Germany (probably to benefit from local subsides: making a movie like Ninja Assassin cost indeed a lot of money, so filmmakers try to get state financial support when available).
You may have recognized Berlin’s Victory column at the beginning of this Ninja Assassin preview: that’s where Obama gave a speech during his European tour before being elected!
:)
Extensive reshoot being done for Wolverine is causing a stir online. I won’t develop here: I think it is a pointless controversy, yep much ado about nothing… I bet that actually most people will enjoy this Wolverine movie at the end and I’m confident that Hugh Jackman will be right eventually when he says:
I can but agree with Hugh Jackman. The trailer wast gorgeous and look at this amazing cast of Wolverine:
I hope this Wolverine will be released in time: I am so impatient! Who is you favorite mutant in this Wolverine movie?
:)
Director Duncan Jones must be fan of science fiction like his father David Bowie. Jones is indeed bring us Moon, an appealing science-fiction movie full of references. It is starring Sam Rockwell in the lead role and Kevin Spacey is lending his voice to the Lunar base AI. We may watch a few Moon preview clips thanks to Collider (here) and Omelete:
This AI with its electronic eye is like a tribute to Writer Arthur C. Clarke and to Director Stanley Kubrick in a reference to HAL9000 in ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’. I am really impressed by the quality of the set and all its details. Sam Rockwell’s performance is also remarkable: he’s playing two roles at once with a real talent.
To help you better understand what’s going in plot, here’s an extract of the synopsis:
Some may think that the pace of the movie a bit slow, but I think it’s a strength for such a sci-fi movie: it will render the movie experience even more realistic!
I’m damn impatient to watch Moon! Where can I buy my own Kevin Spacey AI robot? that’s better than a pet! And ifs it can run the Lunar base then it could run my house cleaning!
:)
Director Michael Rymer is said to be working on a live-action movie adaptation of Witchblade, a comic book created by Top Cow editors Marc Silvestri and David Wohl. Scriptwriter Everett De Roche is tackling the screenplay. No cast has been announced yet.
Witchblade is about a woman superhero whose powers come from the Witchblade a supernatural, sentient artifact with immense destructive and protective powers. The vigilante struggles to hone the awesome powers of the Witchblade and fend off those with a nefarious interest in it, especially entrepreneur Kenneth Irons. She also struggles to maintain a personal life.
Well it boils down to a female version of the Green Lantern!

An ultimate movie trailer of Outlander, upcoming science-fiction movie directed by Howard McCain and starring James Caviezel, Sophia Myles and, Ron Perlman, has shown up just before the final release of the film on January 23, 2009:
Norway, year 709
In the middle of a Viking war an Outlander has come.
But not alone…
It’s been a long road for Outlander to be released in the USA: but if we can believe this trailer then the Outlande movie is going to be explosive. I love the high-tech suit Jesus (James Caviezel) is wearing at the beginning of this trailer!
Oh my God! I definitely have to go see Outlander when it’s in theaters next week!
US release date: January 23, 2009 (limited theatrical release).
:-)

The famous sci-fi Japanese animated series Cowboy Bebop is going to be adapted into a movie by Fox: scriptwriter Peter Craig is already assigned to write the screenplay and Keanu Reeves has been confirmed in the lead role as Spike Spiegel the bounty hunter.
I was a fan of the animated series, it was a combination of everything one may needs: science fiction, action and pretty girls, and last but not least an incredible soundtrack that was totally jazz oriented! So I am glad to hear about a live action movie but I’m not sure that 20th Century Fox is the best choice for tackling the movie adaptation of this manga: hell, they just destroyed a gold opportunity with their ugly take on the Dragonball movie… But let’s try to be optimistic for Cowboy Beebop. Besides there is a real reason for keeping hope: Director Shinichiro Watanabe and writter Keiko Nobumoto from the original Cowboy Bebop series by Sunrise will be closely involved with the development of Fox’s live-action adaptation.
Below the opening of the original Cowboy Bebop series:
Plot:
“Mankind is now able to travel through the Solar system thanks to astral gates. But this technology came with a price: in the year 2021 AD, the first time it was tested a cataclysmic accident happened that caused 4 billions people to be wiped out and force the survivors to scatter though the system because Earth was under a heavy rain of meteors remnants of a blasted Moon
Fifty years later the Solar system is well under colonization with new nations rising from the ashes. But criminals have now a edge over local police services because astral gates make it easy to escape out of reach at the other end of the Solar system. So bounty hunter is a hot job again in 2071!
The crew of the spaceship Bebop are a partnership of “cowboys” (originally Spike & Jet) who travel the solar system trying to apprehend bounties.”
Keanu reeves is a good actor for sure. But such a project would rely a lot on CGI: I worry that Fox isn’t ready to foot the bill of a real marvelous adaptation: besides the current recession, other movie projects like Wolverine 2 may limit Fox’s financial support for the film…
I realy hope they will keep the original soundtrack: it would be blasphemous to do otherwise! No release date yet for this Cowboy Bebop movie, after all it is at such an early stage. But I’d think it may come to theaters in 2011 if lucky.
:)
Ninja Assassin is an upcoming martial arts / action movie directed by James McTeigue and starring Rain in the lead role as Raizo one of the world’s deadliest ninja. Below a teaser poster of Ninja Assassin from 2008 Comic Con in San Diego:
Ninja AssassinThis poster of Ninja Assassin reminds me the Thai action movie Ong Back. But I think that Ninja Assassin will be more satisfying because besides a fight choreography there will be a real plot in Ninja Assassin.

Lionsgate has released (via IGN) the official movie trailer of Crank 2 High Voltage, the sequel to Crank: A movie trailer of Crank 2, aka Crank 2 High Voltage, has been officially released:
