Sci-fi blog Io9 (here) made my day with some great news about Battlestar Galactica. It’s actually Ron Moore confirming that crucial answers will be given in the final episodes of Battlestar Galactica:

Basically, yeah. I don’t know if it’s going to be wrapped up in a neat bow. The show has an answer for it, whether it’s a satisfying answer, I don’t know.

See? We knew what all the questions were! I’m kind of proud of myself. “Yes”es to all of them. I thought you were going to throw a curve at me, like, “Oh, (bleep).”
Besides discovering who is the final cylon I really appreciate the fact that an explanation to Six’s pregnancy: the old Adama thinks Tigh is the father, but Tigh is cylon and the rule goes that Cylon can’t interbreed…. So Im a bit lost… Maybe the child is Baltar’s?

Even before the first movie was out there were rumors of a sequel to Cloverfield. And since the firs film has been released fans of the shaky-cam monster movie are really hopping to see Cloverfield 2 one day.
Still dreaming of the previous viral campaigns launched to promote Cloverfield, fans are trying to catch signs of the new sequel online. But that would be in vain for now. Indeed both Producer J.J. Abrams and Director Matt Reeves aren’t yet decided about what direction Cloverfield 2 should take….
They gave some hints though:
“While we were on set making the film we talked about the possibilities and directions of how a sequel can go. The fun of this movie was that it might not have been the only movie being made that night, there might be another movie! In today’s day and age of people filming their lives on their camera phones and Handycams, uploading it to YouTube… That was kind of exciting thinking about that.”

There’s something we’re playing with now that may or may not happen. There’s an idea we have that plays with… it’s not a literal sequel.

If it’s not a literal sequel then it’ probably a retelling of the central story or some yet-unexplored backstory that would shed a new light on the events.
But I still think that a “traditional” sequel is still likely. And some doors are definitely opened for this:
– at the end scene on Coney Island shows something falls into the ocean in the background (in the far right from the view out of the ferris wheel, a bit left of a boat sitting in the water seen falling just as the camera beeps).
– at the very end of the credits, someone can be heard whispering “Help us”. And if you reverse it, you could hear: “It’s still alive.”
If you were able J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves about what direction to follow for Cloverfield II, what would you recommend?

Hugh Jackman really epitomizes Wolverine by now: hard to imagine any other actor taking over the role. If I ever meet Jackman in the street I’d almost expect to see him showing off his adamantium claws!

John Connor was trained by his mother to fight against Skynet and the Terminators. But in the future described in Terminator 4, aka terminator Salvation, things aren’t exactly like John Connor may have imagined: Skynet is much more vicious and nasty than expected and the evil computer is coming with some new friends:
I doubt we would be Luddites enough today to smash our computers in order to save Mankind from such a fate… So let’s hope that if such a tragedy ever happened, some savior like John in Terminator 4 will rise from the remnants of Mankind! The machines shall not win: Mankind must prevail!

Let’s pray for the movie Watchmen to be released in time (it is indeed currently threatened by a legal battle between Warner Bros and greedy Fox) and let’s hope that 2009 will bring us even better movies than 2008 did!
Directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are bringing us Crank 2 High Voltage , the sequel to the previous Crank movie. And Jason Statham is reprising his role as hitman Chev Chelios. This time Jason Statham is definitely on high voltage: he’s literally chasing his heart! The movie is set for a release in April 2009.

The pace of Crank 2 is as heartbreaking as in the first opus: I’ll need to make sure I took my beta-blockers before going to watch this movie in a theater!
The movie is anticipated to receive an R rating by the MPAA based on an interview with Amy Smart. She was photographed brandishing taped nipples and disclosed that her character Eve has become a pole dancer.
And the naughty boys and girls will be glad (I am) to know there will be another public sex scene with Jason Statham; this time taking place on a horse racing track.
