The success of the movie adaptation of Tolkien’s masterpiece The Lord of The Rings has given an incentive to adapt other works of this author. As a result The Hobbit is now scheduled to be released at the end of 2011.
Guillermo del Toro will direct the movie, with the help of Peter Jackson (who directed the Lord of the Rings trilogy) as executive producer and co-writer.

If you have children then you may know Aang the lead character of a Nickelodeon TV animated series called Avatar The Last Airbender. I, fo one, knew Aang before my kids. I am a real fan!
Thanks God for Director M. Night Shyamalan does have kids too: Shyamalan is going to adapt the show into a movie because of his daughter! Better listen to Shyamalan explaining himself why he is interested in the movie adaptation of Avatar, the Last Airbender:
Shyamalan’s Avatar should be a trilogy, with the Last Airbender being the first opus. I wish it to be as great as the Lord of The Rings saga! Hope there will be enough cash to support Shyamalan’s vision despite the undergoing crisis…

Actually two decades ago there were already around: a TV show was aired in the 1970’s and early 1980’s. Depending on where you were living you would have known the show as Battle of the Planets (UK) or G-Force (USA) before discovering its original Japanese name as Gatchaman.
